Amazing to watch the episode and realize there was almost no dialogue after the initial 15 minutes. The sound crew need to win an award for that episode alone.

 

What?! Why?!

From all the smoke, clouds, zombie bodies, and wide angle shots, I was like:

 

I agree that Bran was pointless in the episode! He did lure the night king in, which worked, but he warged into ravens to do what the whole time? Nothing! He didn't warg into anybody to fight, didn't alert anybody or give any useful information to anybody. I feel like they have to have something else planned for him later on, that can't be the entire point of him being the 3 eyed raven.

How to make a potentially budget crippling episode within budget pro tip....make the whole thing happen at night in 75% darkness with fast paced, busy and close up split second action clips spliced in every 5 seconds...oh and lots of fog lol

 

If you're going to warg into a crow, at least go crap on the Night King's head or something

No, that was the dagger that Jamie gave the assassin to kill Bran all the way back in season 1. Valyrian steel. Turned out Bran had a use for it after all.

 

Wasn’t Jamie that gave the assassin the dagger, it was Joffre (at least in the books, show would have you believe it was Littlefinger)

 

Yes, in the show, this is the same dagger. Maybe little finger was the prince that was promised

I feel like any battle after this will be a let down. Not that they can even go to war anymore, they kamikaze’d the Dothraki and hung the Unsullied out to dry.

 

I started that episode last night just super pissed off that it was so dark, and accusing them of just trying to save CGI money and not letting us see anything.....but by the end I was extremely stoked at how the whole thing went. It just worked. They did it right. I'm still pumped this morning about it, it was so good. Some questionable things, like what've been discussed (dragons/ghost/etc), but I think they did them the way they did to tug on our heart strings and also irritate us.

Man I'm getting tired of seeing people hating on Bran's character. I think he is just phenomenal. The ol' NK wouldn't have been killed if not for him. He even showed a sign of emotion (gratitude) with Theon that he hasn't shown since he became the 3 eyed raven. Can you imagine being a 10 year old kid or however old he was when he started and being told you're going to be on one of the biggest shows ever but you have to be paralyzed the whole time? Bran literally IS history in the show, I love the character.

 

I was / am surprised he hasn’t had a larger part this season other than the plan to lure the NK out, which to be fair he didn’t really do because the entire castle had fallen at that point and it was nearly over.
