    It’ll last a little while, get resurrected every so often when a noob watches it for the first time, and then go apeshit for the spin-offs and BOOK 6 & 7 ACTUAL.

    If the books come out within the next year the world will lost its mind.
    At the very, very least.
    I think we each need to get a GoT virgin hooked on season one then secretly record them for that “special” episode in season 2, posting results here.

    What’s the special episode?

    We had a friend start watching this season (bc she started dating someone who was in to it). She binged the first seasons in time before the season premiere.

    If the books are ever finished I’ll be getting the audio books (I hate reading) as I’ve never read any but refuse to start them if I can’t get the ending as written by GRRM...

    Fresh wiper fluid
    Some time in February or March I started watching the show for the first time. Watched about an episode a day, with the occasional 2-3 episode day on the weekends. I literally finished 15 minutes before season 8 premiered.

    The show has remained at least 'good' throughout, but it definitely lost it's fastball somewhere around season 4-5.

    That’s when the show passed the books so you see a steady decline in writing and story telling. It’s still a great show and I love every minute of it but it’s a noticeable difference in the last few seasons

    My theory on how this is going to end.

    Arya kills Greyworn and takes his face. Arya posing as Greyworm standing behind Daenerys, as she addresses the remaining unsullied and dothraki, plunges Greyworm's spear through her. Arya posing as Greyworm proclaims to the assembled men they are all truly free now. Daenerys with her dying breath calls out "Dracarys". Dracarys seeing his mother killed goes insane and begins killing everyone (succeeds in killing most of the remaining unsullied, dothraki, and possibly Arya after she defaces back to herself). After killing most everyone Dracarys lands by his dead mother (Daenerys) displaying grief at her death. While Dracarys is distracted John Snow leaps on his back and plunges Longclaw into his brain killing him.

    This is the only way I can see this ending. John Snow would never kill Daenerys. Daenerys has to die, the dragon has to die, the remaining unsullied and dothraki have to die. I don't believe John Snow will accept the crown and will go North beyond the wall. My guess would be Sansa becomes Queen of the 7 Kingdoms which was probably her plan all along. Brienne of Tarth becomes Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

    All of the unsullied and dothraki and the rest of the army need to be killed if there is to be any sort of peace. They partook in the slaughter and are now the monsters. That I was surprised about. Dany burning the city, I was not.

    I wasn't surprised by the Unsullied and Dothraki jumping on the murdering and pillaging bandwagon (it's what they do), but yeah, the Northmen jumping in was disappointing to say the least.

    Absolutely. I wasn't too happy about the slaughter of Innocents though. The battle was won essentially. They just rampaged and said fuck it all.

    Everyone will be saying "Shit, this is so much better than the last few seasons of the show! HBO needs to go back and redo it all!"
    Or, people who have never read the books will read what's being posted here and say "Wait, what? Who? They weren't on the show! Isn't that guy dead? I've never heard that name before! How did that character get there? Where is that place?"
    Not to mention everyone confused about the fact that there is no Night King.
