Humor me, it's a far fetched theory. GOT has tons of forshadowing and the title of s8e4 was "last of the starks" which to me implies only one Stark will remain. John isn't a stark anymore, nor is Bran which only leaves Arya and Sansa and lets not forget Season 7's reunion of the two Stark women, when Sansa finds the faces in the bag and Arya flatly said she could take Sansa's pretty face and become lady Stark if she chose to.

 

Interesting didn't realize that.

Dragons are said to be gender fluid, neither male or female. This is why there were so many theories about baby dragons since all three would have been able to lay eggs

 

Interesting, in the show they say "he" and everywhere I've read they say "he".

 

Also the north have never liked the south anyways. They are good people but there has always been that animosity between the two and the people of Kings Landing are considered “Lannister” people. It’s been constant war up north for years and if their “queen” is saying fuck it, might as well.

I will say I was kind of bummed at how lopsided the battle was. Years we’ve heard about the Golden army and they are wiped out in seconds, scorpions useless, iron fleet are tinder and zero protection of the red keep from the dragon. Figured they would put some scorpions around it, not just the perimeter wall. I guess the writers just wanted to show how powerful a dragon is against an entire city (like when Aegon first came over). 3 dragons and the war would have been over in minutes, looks like Dany should have made a quick stop before heading up north to help Jon. Wouldn’t have been much of an inconvenience apparently.

 

I’m going to start reading the books and hope that 6 & 7 are finished within a reasonable time

 

Audiobooks are the way to go tbh. Depending on your commute to work you can knock out about 2 hours a day. Seeing it takes about 48-50 hours (plus) per book, that's what I did

Agreed, 3 dragons vs an unprepared Lannister army with only one early less effective version of the scorpion would have been wiped out in seconds. All of the Golden company, Iron fleet and the local people who lived outside the gates would have been spared because they wouldn't have been there. Then they could have employed the Golden Co. and Iron Fleet (since Euron would most likely be romancing Daenerys again) when they started north. Would also have made sense that after the Throne was won by a mortal, that the last war would be the great war of the living vs the dead.

 

I’ll be doing audiobooks but I’m not committing to starting until I know all the books are finished. I don’t want to be in the situation everyone is in now trying to figure out what GRRM would have done differently than the show

The main villain was always Cersei. It had to end with that fight. The night king wasn’t even introduced until mid way through the series

 

I don't care what parts you have - if you can breathe fire and level cities you can be any gender you want.

 

I don't disagree with Cersei being the main enemy, but rewinding to the point Daenerys first comes to Westeros she is unaware of the Night King (until John visits) so Cersei is the only logical enemy to attack at that point which is what she intended to do until she listened to Tyrion's pleas for a peaceful approach.

 

To me the deaths have been rushed and insignificant. Vahrys death was blah, I get he dies getting caught what he’s always done, but it was so sudden and didn’t really have any treachery in the lime light. Qyburn got the Frankenstein treatment with the mountain (his creation) turning on him. The hounds was good and fitting.

Cersi’s could have been better. Would have rather liked she meets with Jaime and he takes her down to the tunnels. Once down there he starts to turn on her and she freaks out. She runs, turns a corner and there is Jaime succumb to his wounds by Euron and it’s actually Arya wearing his face mask. She kills Cersi and squeezes her way out to take on Dany next episode.

Also could have kept Euron alive to man a scorpion in the city (if they had one by the keep) and at the last minute (after the battle had been won) he fires a scorpion and kills Drogon before going up in flames. That way Dany is without a dragon, won the city, but now has Tyrion and Jon against her and Arya creeping around.

 

Nice plot.

 

The episode starts off with Varys trying to poison Dany using his little bird. That is why he asked her about the Queen not eating, and that great risks earn great rewards.

 

Didn’t realize he was poisoning her. Now it makes sense. Thanks.

 

White Walkers are literally in the opening scene of the series...

 

I love how everyone is screenwriter now...

 

But they weren’t the main threat until much later. Pretty sure Ned had the heads of the couple of survivors of that attack anyway so no one even knew about it. They were always just ghost stories and tales...Until Jon brought the wight to KL
