I thought it was in the Crypt with the original Kings of Winter or Kings in the North?

 

I don't believe so. I guess the Eyrie did have a "throne" of sorts, but that wasn't a throne room, just a chair they kept in that room I thought.

I'm almost positive the only "thrones" are Kings Landing and Dragonstone.

 

Walter Frey had a "throne" of sorts.

If I remember right, most castles in the books described it as a "high table," like what's depicted at winterfell in the show. Dragonstone and Kings landing had actual thrones.

I will give the show credit for one little nuance in this episode. We've seen a lot of the story through Dany's perspective because, up until the moment she went full mad queen, she was sort of the hero and not the villain (even if some skepticism was warranted). The siege started with us seeing it from her perspective, too. At that point, she was still a liberator and not a tyrant. We saw her perspective atop her dragon as she took out the Iron Fleet and the Scorpions, all the way up to when she stood on the walls and listened to the bells ring.

From that point on, she took off and we didn't see anything from her perspective anymore. The directors completely severed the attachment we had with Dany up through that point. It was a weird feeling, seeing her from afar when she felt like the engine driving this thing until then.

There are some points that were still a little rushed - would have liked Cleganebowl to have its own scene - but this was easily the best episode of the season. I just wish every other story-line didn't have to get expedited and condensed to get here.

Just talking about thrones that whoever wins would sit on because everyone said the iron throne is gone blah blah blah and there is still a throne at dragonstone.

 

I think the Iron Throne is more the symbol of Rule over Westeros which is why it has become the focal point and goal of anyone wanting to be King/Queen.

 

It’s also in the capitol. It would be like if someone invaded US and laid claim in Kansas talking about they run the country now instead of taking D.C...
