Game Of Thrones

I tried giving that show The Last Kingdom a chance but I think it was around season 2 that it just got way too campy for me, like they suddenly tried mixing in comedy with the writing and it failed hard. Also as far as Vikings related TV goes, Vikings is a lot better IMO than what I saw of The Last Kingdom

Season 2 is all over the place but has some good episodes.

 

Westworld is awesome, you really have to stick it out to the end to have everything make sense.

 

Like others have said first season is great. Second tried to do too much but I still thought it was pretty good. May be tough at times to get through an episode but still a good 7.5/10 IMO. Also when you get caught up go sub to that thread as well

Loved Vikings, until season 4 ended, season 5 thru now not so much. Also liked Black Sails alot.

 

Yeah Vikings went kind of off the rails when it started focusing on Ragnar's sons primarily, I haven't seen the latest season but I'll watch it once it hits Prime. There's a lot of "suspended disbelief" moments with it which is hard for me to do sometimes with shows that are more based in reality. With shows like GoT it's easier to suspend disbelief because, well...magic lol.

 

Tell me this is real. I don’t watch the after episode stuff, but it would make sense based on writing.

 

I didn't see a after the episode for the last one. It usually plays on mine as soon as the episode finishes but not this time and I didn't look for it.

 

I'll let it open up for a few weeks. If it is still as rough around the edges. I'll send it your way.

 

There are some serious flaws in the writing/logic that is set forth by the writers themselves just episodes prior. They contradict the nature of the characters that GRRM created and they built on.

They defy plain logic and contradict the essence of the characters to the point that they destroyed them.

Cersei...

has always been without honor, ruthless and an opportunist. She has hated Tyrion her entire life for “killing” their mother, killing their father, and believed he killed her son. She always hates him for having Marcella shipped away. So this has been built on for the entirety of the show. THIS season even, she hires Bronn to kill BOTH her brothers. So why does she let Tyrion live when he marches up to her in episode 4? Hundreds of archers and scorpions at her disposal and she lets him live and walk back to Dany and lets them go regroup and wait for the rest of their forces instead of killing him and attacking her pitiful army bellow? Yeah ok, superb writing....

Jamie....

Been on a redemption arc the whole show, abandons Cersi to go fight for the living, survives then sleeps with Brienne just to ride back down to Cersi? So pointless, him sleeping with Brienne was so forced and unnatural. Sure he admires her and cares for her, but he never had any romantic interest in her, or at least it was never built on in any of the previous seasons.

Tyrion....

One of the smartest people in Westeros and knows exactly how evil she is, yet comes up with genius plan to show her a wight because that will convinced her to help out and forget about her selfish desires? And then he continues on making mistake over and over...


Bran...

3 eyed raven, does nothing entire battle vs white walkers... his entire journey beyond the wall to protect the people from the night king. Benjen saves him so he can be “ready”
Does nothing, apparently wants nothing and doesn’t believe he should be lord of winterfell...then when offered king of the “6” kingdoms “duh, why do you think I’m here?” Lmao

I’ve already touched on it in this thread, but the idea that Greyworm would allow Jon to live instead of killing him on the spot is stupid. Almost as stupid as him setting up meeting with Lords of Westeros and allowing his other prisoner to dictate who will be crowned...just when he was executing Lannister soldiers who had given up, but hey can’t kill the guy who murdered my queen because D and D wrote it this way... and then the whole election of new king is just awful.
The lords of all the other houses easily agree on bran? No one has an objection? Oh except for Sansa who conveniently remains exempt... and the rest of the “kingdoms” are just fine that she and the north are the sole exemption? At that point they would all want to be independent....

But yeah I’m just making stuff up and jumping on the hate train, which I guess has been going around for a while now because my criticisms didn’t just start now...

 

Clegane bowl ends in a Tie, Cersi's death was about as satisfying as a plain ricecake, Arya Drogon and the Unsullied piss off, the Dothraki are like uhh... so... um... anyone for raiding?, Bran "Caw Caw!" Stark the sociopath becomes king, the revelation of Jon's true identity is completely irrelevant, and absolutely zero nudity. WORST FINALE EVER! It was like the swirly catshit ontop of the litterbox that was season8.

I wont buy buying or reading the remaining books when GRRM finally gets around to writing them. He can go choke on a bag of dicks for all I'm concerned, I'm not giving him another cent of my money.
