Yeah, the new ones are fairly laughable as well. The ‘origin’ ones are the best, especially Rogue One because there can’t be any more

 

The Game of Thrones series is kind of like Tacoma trucks. Seasons 7 and 8 were actually pretty good, but compared to the earlier seasons they really fell short. Had the first six seasons not been so awesome we wouldn't be so disappointed in the last two. Kind of like 3rd gens compared to 1st and 2nd gens.

Black sails was a show that had an ending that some might not like, but as a whole piece, a whole story, made sense and fit. The characters remained consistent and grew progressively until the end. Even if I don't appreciate the end I can appreciate a well written story.

Shakespeare (I know I shouldnt compare D+D or even try to parallel them) gave us plenty of tragedies, they're whole stories with a consistent vision that plays out with intent. It is possible to get a bad ending right, I just think D+D as writers were not up to the task of projecting the story thru GRRMs voice on their own.

 

I haven’t seen the final season of black sails but I really enjoyed that show. They did off my favorite character though...not why I quit watching, I’m still just sad about it

Yes indeed...it's a great show, Smurf is a ball buster for sure haha.

 

I'll admit that a lot of these are valid criticisms. But I don't think they make the show "garbage" the way so many people are saying. Maybe its just hyperbole, and maybe its the echo chamber effect of the internet, but I don't agree that these criticisms make the last season deserve the hate and vitriol that its getting.

 

You guys are tripping. West World season 2 was excellent. It ended the season and set up the next phenomenaly.

Actually think you nailed it perfectly. I read the books well before the show. The screenplay was definitely “rushed” and modernized/simplified/illogical for todays typical show watcher.
Great series overall. Just very dissatisfying last season and finale.
I hear they are taking over Avengers? Hmm

 

agreed with your agreement. Season 2 was great, just had to deal with being a little confused until it all paid off. Although I was way more confused during the first season, because I didn't know that

10 years? Hahaha, you might be the most optimistic poster on this forum. . Think we'll see a 6th gen Tacoma before GRRM finishes his books. TBH, I doubt he ever finishes. He's been paid. Not a lot of motivation to stress out now.
