    should be good. hopefully people will get over the fact that it's based on the books and not the game.

    Last Wish and Sword of Destiny are short story compilations, but both have short stories that directly set up the events of the saga. Funny thing about the "non-release date reading order;" Sword of Destiny was originally released before Last Wish, though the stories in Last Wish come first. All the books are written in Polish, so the English translations have Last Wish released first, followed by some of the saga, then Sword of Destiny, then the rest of the saga. Bit confusing yes. Really, just read Last Wish, Sword of Destiny, then the saga. Season of Storms was just translated last year, but it's so standalone that it doesn't really matter when you read it.
    In comparison to A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones (book 1 for those non readers) was released the same year that the third book in the Witcher saga was released, 1996. But the first English translation wasn't until 2007, 8 years after the saga was completed.
    Fun trivia aside, the books are very good and I highly recommend them, especially for those who enjoy the games!
    Another great fantasy book series to check out is the Black Company series.
