    I heard every episode is going to be broken up into a 4hr per segment trilogy, lord of the rings style. With an associated interpretative dance number on broadway that will be in 4-D.

    Not confirmed. All they've confirmed is that some episodes will be 120 min. The rumors were this season was going to have a lot of 90 min episodes but we got none.
    Even if all of the episodes were 2 hours this logic doesn't make sense. They've put out seasons with 10-11 hours of footage total in a year. They are doing it because the actors are paid per episode so they are saving millions by having 4 less.
