Not sure how this happened but came out of the gym to find the truck leaning to the right. The driver side is now about 2 inches higher.

The great thing about broken parts is that I get to buy new ones but I'm stuck between the dakars and deavers. I probably would have gone with Alcan's if I had more time but I'd like get these swapped out soon.

What do you guys think? Is this safe to drive on for a few days?

Wow! I'd check for other evidence of it possibly being hit in the parking lot.

That looks like rust failure to me.

Just took a closer look and I don't see any signs of a hit. Rust is definitely a possibility, especially since it spent its first 6 years at the Jersey Shore.

Is it strange that its bent upwards though? With my years and years of experience I would have thought it would have bent the other way....

X2 I was thinking the same thing... That's really bizarre. Also the fact that it happened while it was just sitting in the parking lot is weird to me. Got any other pics?

It probably didn't happen while it was sitting. I was running around town yesterday and coming out of the gym was the first I noticed it.

Here it was a couple of weeks ago

It would not be able to bend the other way as the bottom leaf's would prevent it. Looks like it hit a pothole and when it flexed back, it just failed.
    My .02 cents.

I would say either rust failure or the axle got pushed forward somehow. Have you backed into something fairly hard lately, maybe a stump or something? Also, your truck is probably crab walking pretty bad because with one leaf being shorter, because it's bent, it will pull that side of the axle forward.

It definitely looks like the rear driver side wheel took a pretty good hit from behind. Either from backing into something or a car hitting the back of the tire while parking. I suppose a sudden hard launch off the line could cause something like that to happen.

You broke the honey badger again? Gotta get it fixed man, we haven't been wheeling in a good while. Chad is working hard on my dad's 83 pickup trail rig right now but when he finishes that I'll be ready to hit some stuff.

definitly looks like something pushed forward on the left wheel. looked like my old leaf when someone bumped my rear wheel.

Lol....Not wrong, I'm definitely not the nicest to it but its been non-stop this year. Just as soon as I think i'm ready to go something else take a crap!

I need to reach out to Chad to see about some welding. Want to get my diff armor and frame braces burned.

We need to get another trip on the calendar for sure though. Got any pics of the 83?

Yeah man its been way too long since we had a proper wheeling trip.

Chad said he could also hook you up with some leaf packs as well. PM me if you need his number.

Chads currently got the 83 broken down to rebuild the front axle, bob the bed, and put on some sliders. You'd like it, it kinda has that same pink-ish color the badger has. Here's some pics of it before the surgery though:

And here is a pic of the small kickouts Chad welded onto my factory sliders a few weeks ago:

The faded pink joke aside that truck is awesome! I'll have to swing by and take a closer look.

Last couple of weeks were 3 Radiators, axle seals, new shoes, break cylinders, Clogged CAT, broken frame bolts, blah blah blah....

I ordered some Dakars which should be here next week and then I should be go....

Jeez no wonder you haven't been wheeling lately. I think the worst that has happened to my FJ in the last few months was that I spilled a Pepsi in it haha. I've been been pretty lucky so far, trying to keep the mileage low on this thing. I've thinking of getting a separate daily driver in a few years so I can really trail rig it out

I'll let you know when I've got the 83 back at my house from Chad so you can see it. Should be a couple weeks, he's working pretty hard on the axle rebuild at the moment. Bed bob comes after that
