    Stock with a camper shell for now.
    Since our trucks don’t have one that you can program in them to open the garage door, well at least mine doesn’t. What have everyone done? Someone wire one in ? I have a couple of the clickers you can pick up at the hardware store but would like to modify them to maybe work as a permanent switch in my truck.

    I have a three car garage with 2 door openers. Installed 2 -12v door opener remotes behind the head liner panel and bought the plate with 3 swich cut outs.

    My factory ones are on my rearview mirror. Swap out the mirror? I wonder if the harness is there, or if this was an addon after 2019?

    Yeah.
    My 2018 has it on the mirror, I think it was an option or part of a tech package. If I were a betting man, I'd bet the wiring is there and someone has a thread on it here.

    EDIT: Found a thread -> https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-backlit-buttons-for-2016-2023-tacoma.550584/

    I did an Amazon control switch, WiFi/blue tooth,and a phone app. You can open it from anywhere. You can program a widget and just tap the app once to open

    I guess I'm old school. Mine is clipped to the sun visor. Works great.

    Now you blocked all the warnings and legal jumbo on the visor. How are you going to survive with reading that daily?

    Friend of mine rigged one to the inside of his car under the dash - taped it 'on' so everytime he was within range it opened on its own.

    Careful not to leave one in the vehicle tho they are an excellent avenue to gain access to your house.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
    Added a home link device from eBay under the dash, above the storage cubby by the shifter. Impossible to see and works great.

    I just put a remote in the door cubby of my car that doesn't have one in the mirror. Easy to reach in and click and I like it as window peepers can't see that there's a garage door opener. Easy to pop in a pants pocket if wanted also.
