    That's my thinking, should be easier without the remotes case. Going to put in a new battery first and it'll be good for a while.

    Just a heads up - when the battery fails, and it will - you will need to remove the console to replace it - something to consider - might be a PIA if it fails at the least opportune time,

    It's really only one screw, my last battery lasted 4 years, so it's not that bad, lol, it's alot better than thirds breaking my window to steal the clicker that's laying in the console, then breaking into my house while I'm at work

    I was thinking the same thing, it's not that much of a big deal and won't happen very often.

    Absolutely, I get it.......in another truck I have, the push button in dash is connected to the opener with 22ga wire and the opener just sits in the glove box......

    My 99 taco had a nice thing by the interior light that could hold a opener. I just keep mine in the lil tray by the ignition.

    Has anybody done the pushbutton mod with a Genie 3 button remote? Took mine apart and can't figure out where to solder the wires.

    Garages are for WORK, not for storing cars.

    There's an app or (apps) available for smartphone control of your garage door via bluetooth . Simple as wiring in the bluetooth module to your garage door opener

    You can then have unlimited range opening /closing your door . App will also notify you when door is opened without your knowledge

    Bluetooth is very low range. Much lower than a typical garage door opener. Bluetooth LE is even worse, no more than a few feet at most -- like 3.
    If you want a long range connection, you can look at something based on LoRa radio (Long range radio), or IoT (use cell phone data service, connect via home WAN connection).

    As a starting point for IoT, something similar to this;
    https://www.instructables.com/id/Garage-Door-Opener-Remote-Web-interface-With-Esp82/

    But of course note that whoever wrote that up really didn't think it through all that much, since there is no reason to use a garage door remote to activate it when you already have a relay on it -- just hook the opener's trigger wires directly up to the relay and call it good. It is also a good idea to set up a "sensor" to read the position of the door. This can be hooked up to the opener's limit switches.

    See those round dots on the back side of the rubber buttons? Those have carbon on them. When you push the button, the carbon connects each side of the circle on the PCB together. So, you just need to decide which 1 of the 7 buttons you want to hardwire, solder wires on to each side of the circle for that button, and connect the wires to a push button momentary contact switch.

    Be careful that you don't let solder flow over onto an adjacent trace. Inspect your work with a magnifying glass.

    Thanks for the info. They are small and that is going to be tough. I have already messed up 2 of the buttons so will try on another one.

    I'm guessing that you're getting it too hot and lifting the traces. Either buy a better soldering iron or take it to a TV repairman.

    I messed up the 2 that are closest to the battery. I tried soldering a wire to each of them. This is another opener that I have. Going to program the other 2 buttons for my garage and try what muddinfun said. After looking closer I see what he means.
