I did potatoes the last couple of years but didn't do them this year, yet. I'm pulling the lettuce and might put some in, or do them in a separate pot. When they get in the garden they want to keep Coming back.

Mine has been slow so far. Broccoli got hammered by animals multiple times, but came back. Peppers are just starting To grow well. Tomatoes are doing ok, but the beans took off as soon as I planted them.

Not quite a garden, although it might look like one in person, but we used Jade and a couple of other plants that were growing around the house to help stabilize the back of the property. Super loose stuff and steep. Jade takes over and the roots are surprisingly very very strong.

I did the edge a few years ago. I should have finished the job back than. At least now I should have some stable walking “rows” to weedwack more safely.

Yesterday’s heat was brutal. Did a lot of damage to one tomato plant. I have to make sure I drink plenty of cold water tomorrow at North Fork’s Loggers Jamboree. I don’t want to be this tomato. Although I did give it plenty of water. It won’t be as bad as yesterday’s 111°, but 100° is still plenty hot :bananadead:

All the other plants had a little bit of fried edges/ends only.

I was most worried about this pack!

I just noticed it is near a metal container’s side. Possibly the heat radiating.

We’ve never had cherry tomatoes grow this large. Typical one is in the lower right hand corner (no pun intended :0)

We were gone for a week and when we got back my broccoli heads all turned into flowers. :(

Heat wave while you were gone? I gave up on broccoli because for 3 years straight I spent months picking caterpillars off of them every day to try and get a yield and then we'd have a stretch of hot weather and they'd bolt to flowers before I could harvest anything. :frusty:

Not really a heat wave, but temperatures up to normal. The two weeks before we left it was highs in the 60's, 70's tops. They were just ready, and I wasn't here to pick them. I only do four broccoli plants, so it's no great loss.

My corn and squash is still way behind. We have had hot weather the last couple of days, it was up almost to 100 yesterday. That should kick them into growing.

I need to get out there and pull some weeds. they have taken over. Grass in the yard was way tall. Got that mowed today. Damn, I was only gone a week and everything went to hell, but I'm getting caught up.

Chop the head off, maybe you’ll get some shoots to come out.

I got one head so far. Not sure what the others are going to do as a result of the rabbit and deer browsing on them.

Been a while since I posted a photo, so here's a couple. Beans are finally producing well; they got off to a late start (same as the morning glories in the lower left of picture #3) and were getting overshadowed by the squash plants for a while but seem to have caught up. Today's haul was pretty decent:

I found some purple string beans that are supposed to turn green when you cook them. Right now they are about to flower

I've grown those before. Zebra-striped ones as well. They both blanched out to green when you cooked them.

I grow a kind called Dragon Tongue beans. They are purple striped. When cooked they turn yellow. I don't grow them for the color. I grow them because they grow well here, and they don't get stringy if you don't get them picked right away. I didn't grow any this year because the last two year's crops were so good I still have about 100 pints in the pantry. Here are some photos from a couple years ago.
