It’s fairly easy once you get into it. I’ll attach a couple pics. I have this drip irrigation in all my flower beds, trees, garden and such. The MS heat is rough on shrubs, hardwoods, and in the garden dripppers slow weed growth down.

The drip system is very flexible with drip emitters from 1/4 - 2+ gallons per hour.

You can either leave it out or take it in during winter months. My main drip supply line is buried and hasn’t frozen yet, but I’ve forgotten to remove emitters and they cracked.

I buy from Home Depot, Lowes, and Amazon. There’s excellent YouTube’s on this as well (rain bird, orbit have good videos).

    Good luck

I did 3' deep concrete footers for my garden. 10 of them.

Like others said. No PT lumber. Lay weed barrier.

If you have any issues with moles or voles at all I would recommend putting down a wire mesh at the bottom and securing it to the wooden walls. They ravaged my garden this year and barely anything grew with them digging through as everything was still struggling to root.

Pulled some squash last night to roast on the grill with the burgers. Added a chopped up pepper for some zing.

That's a good idea, I had big moles 2 years ago that ate my sweet potatoes. Our lab finally sniffed it out. I'm having rabbit trouble this year, what'd you recommend?

This is just a good idea if you have critters or not lol. Will mean if you don’t have them now you never will.

Do you guys lay any plastic on the inside walls or stain/paint the outside of the boxes?

Nope. Just bare wood. If I was to do it over I might have put a coat of linseed or tung oil on just for appearance's sake, but I was putting in 8 beds and I was in a hurry to get everything in place as early as possible so I didn't miss out on any of the growing season.

No, that was my chicken tractor

I made it a few inches longer and wider than the garden beds with the intent of being able to set it on top of the garden beds at the end of the season and letting the birds pick through them and eat the bugs / fertilize. But they ended up mostly just taking dust baths and throwing all of my good soil out onto the ground instead, so I abandoned that idea

Edit- I built a pea trellis with some fencing stakes and galvanized fencing wire instead.

That’s some fine economical engineering rt there :hattip:

What’s the fencing material made of?

I like the cross sectionals too.

Yep, that would be it. Just zip-tied on and the clear plastic I cut to fit and taped the seams so it can just be pulled on and off as needed,

I need to get into canning since glysophates are in everything now. Dadburn oatmeal is full of it and that was a staple. I tell you I remember eating some fine canned foods back in the day.

I might need some canning recipes next spring.

Some just take some supplies...jars, lids, rings, tongs, pressure canner, and large pot for processing, funnel etc but once you have the main stuff it lasts a long time. and you re use the jars. The rest is a time management thing.

Hope springs eternal! I was getting ready to trash my tomatoes and noticed some finally setting on . Also, I am finally getting a few green peppers. Swiss Chard planted a couple of weeks ago is germinating nicely and I planted a row of radish and spinach. Gardeners sure have to be optimists.
