That's quite an informative web site, thanks for posting the link. I have his book, and refer to it often, but never thought about looking for a web site.

Does anyone grow red leaf lettuce here??? We planted 4 types of lettuce and that’s the only one that’s struggling.

I’ll have to check when I get home.
We are growing romaine, butter lettuce and “ gourmet leaf” lettuce. The red is the only one that has not gained any size the Romain has exploded the butter lettuce is catching up, the gourmet is doing all right but a little slow but that red leaf lettuce just is not doing much of anything

How's the soil? Lettuces don't like a dense soil. Combined with how slow they grow to start, it can keep them small for longer than usual. Other than that nothing springs to mind for why it'd have stalled, unless it's been too cold or hot lately

Trying to decide if the Debut tomato plant can be salvaged (aphids infestation) or plant something else in it's place. What would you guys do? I'm concerned it's a little late to start something else.

Maybe pot it and put something in its place ,and if it rebounds , you got two things. If not you’ve waste little time at all.:notsure:

Someone had mentioned ( can’t remember and I don’t think a TW member) that planting carrots nearby toms is good for them in terms of pests . Can’t think why. Again :notsure:

Great idea. Off to get another plant!

Carrots and tomato's here are very different growing seasons.

Edit: I noticed the second pic is a tomato as well? Good thing to move that struggling plant out of the bed and take measures to protect the other one :notsure:

Yeah, I tried to show the healthy one against the other one for contrast. I do way better with cherry tomatoes for whatever reason.

I'd try to salvage that plant, but that's mostly because my growing season is short enough that starting over from scratch at this point in the game wouldn't yield anything

Had to cover my tender plants the last two nights. It only got down to 35 F last night, but did frost the night before. Forcast looks like I'm good from here on out.
