Since I gave them a drink of epsom salt and water along with some Tomato Tone it improved the blossom health . I was dropping quite a few. Seems so much better now . I have 2 Summer and 2 zucchini and both seem great. Trying to control cucumber beetles sucks though

Technically you have four summer squash, two yellow and two zucchini. Zucchini are a variety of summer squash.

UPDATE..... I decided to fill my empty raised planter with dirt and transplant some plants to “thin the herd”. I’m hoping all the plants survive but it needed to be done. I wish I would have taken pictures of the before but I was on a roll and didn’t wanna grab my phone from inside.

Rain barrel planter with a transplanted cucumber and a transplanted broccoli... Use to hold my romaine which I killed on accident by overwatering... I must watch this carefully00B18E03-2493-4283-AF5C-D9DBB5F86ECC.jpg
Planter one use to be full of broccoli and two zucchini’s now as you can see only 4 broccoli (I think there was 7 in here before I transplanted) F77CA236-7599-445C-B9BA-00035B202D70.jpg
Planter 2 has a majority of the transplanted stuff.. it holds 5 broccoli and 2 red blood beets765FF55D-7109-42AD-9A98-68563FF77468.jpg
Planter 3 now holds 2 broccoli 3 cucumbers and some walla walla sweet unions (my daughter forgot to split them before planting so I’m hoping they still work out) there use to be another cucumber and broccoli in here.021AAE30-A73C-4EDC-BE01-943F14B6E990.jpg
Planter 4 houses 2 types of lettuce... butter crunch lettuce and gourmet leaf lettuce nothing changed here just took out 2 plants a few weeks ago that where dead 3A53DDD5-909C-4801-8B81-29FD2E661167.jpg
Tomato plant #1 I have two small tomato’s starting on it and this is the plant that is suppose to have the big ones on it.... middle of cage is crammed with leaves and stems 333FA4FA-3038-4C56-AB19-59404625690C.jpg
Tomato plant #2 is cherry tomatoes and isn’t doing AS good as the bigger one. As you can see there are a few yellow and brown leaves which concern me but this one also has a few green cherries on it. 9D3E4FC3-DB2B-498B-90C0-ED127187E476.jpg
Last but not least is planter 5 and it houses 4 red blood beets and 5 heads of red lettuce which until recently I was worried about but as you can see it had taken off in the last week or soFEF609C0-61F7-42AA-ADD2-9EB096430650.jpg

Overall most of these plants have done most of their growing over the last two weeks... Planters 1,2,and 3 get a lot of sun, planters 4 and 5 get a tiny bit of sun in the morning but lots sun in the afternoon (that is when we finally get some HAHA suppose to rain again Monday-Thursday) I talked to a local master gardener who said the grow year so far has been weird and not to be too discouraged. She also told me that even though I have only been putting a little bit of water in the tanks each day I should be watering every 2-3 days not every day. So when I transplanted I watered with some miracle grow to hopefully help with the shock of transplant ( my idea not the gardener because I forgot to ask about transplanting as I was in a hurry by then)

Any Tips or tricks or comments you guys have good or bad would be appreciated... CHEERS

I wouldnt worry too much about it unless it starts leaning one way too much, then maybe help it out with some support. The zucchini is personal choice but they can get away from you quickly. one day you will look and its about that size then couple days later its 18" long... the color kind of tells you if its been too long. If its really all dark green then its probably been on the plant too long, its still good but going to be tougher and the skin also will be tougher. I make zucchini bread so if they get to big I dont worry too much. but the lighter green is good for saute, just some butter salt and pepper. cook till al dente...not mushy and its good!

Typically there much bigger. Different strain and watering played into it I'm sure. I know bigger doesn't always mean better, I'll find out in about two weeks :D

My tomatoes are picking up speed. I will be picking cherries in the next couple days and Bonnie centennial and celebrity as well. Got about 6-8 on each.
Put a cucumber beetle sticky trap out tonight and there were a dozen on it in 30 minutes.
Kicking myself in the pants for not trying that a month ago can’t wait to see results in AM

I was not expecting these results. It looks like I need to add straight nitrogen. The excessive phosphorus and potassium levels had to be from the Miracle Grow garden soil I added in the spring.

Get some blood meal. It’s all nitrogen. My soil numbers were about the same as yours when I first put my garden in, and that spot had never had any fertilizer added to it. At least not in the 30 years I have lived here, and I seriously doubt the previous owner did. Blood meal is good stuff, but be careful not to over do it on tomatoes. If you do you will end up with big beautiful, dark green plants with no tomatoes on them.

Thanks for the tip. I'll remember to add bloodmeal in the fall. My tomato's this year are in another bed and doing really good, but I'll want to rotate them to this new bed next spring.

Update on my cucumber beetle issue. Purchased two sticky traps with bait for about $20. Put one In at blossom height . Pic I took was this morning about 33 hours after I hung it.

Both sides have a pretty good amount of beetles :D why I dragged my feet on this is beyond me

    D57B0FC9-7168-495D-A62E-ADEAFABCD02E.jpg
Those are ready to pic , but I need to wait til Friday because I use a less than organic means to prevent borers and I even seen the fuckers laying their eggs the other morning so I sprayed. Can’t harvest for three days after that so....
I hope I got these pests beat. I learned quite a bit this year and I “ think” I will be much better at it :fingerscrossed:
