It was way to hot to go outside this weekend 102*Fri 105*Sat 102*Sun. the only good thing about the heat is the Gogi berries love it. These were not there on Friday.

Gogi berries taste kinda like candy corn and are more nutritious than Blueberries. I will definitely plant at least one more next spring.

Is this normal for a carrot? It’s my first time ever trying and they are about 60 days or 65 days since planting from seedling. Thoughts or opinions would be appreciated

Are you asking about the color or the double root? Odd shapped carrots with two or more roots are common in home gardens. Never seen one that color, is it some odd variety?

    A thing or two...
When I was living in NM and had a garden, Sevin dust never did anything for me except kill or keep away all the pollinators, so I had to pollinate my zucchini by hand. I've read that diatomaceous earth works, but I've never tried it. I just resorted to going out every evening to smashing squash bug and egg cluster that I could find.

    Did what work?

Killing the bugs manually? More or less. It slowed them down to the point that the plants didn't die off. You never get them all, so it's an ongoing process.
