I'm talking about the fabric pots, like the plastic or clay pots just made out of fabric.

I don't like them because they're usually black. And if you put your plants in full sun to give them their best growth, the bag cooks the roots and dries out the soil.

Maybe not the easiest but Rubbermaid tubs, no soil constantly running water.

Bottom two were cherry tomatoes many varieties.

It was really nice, I just took it down because we had our back yard completely redone. The water was pumped from the blue drum with a 250GPH pump to the top container then gravity took it thru each one then back to the drum. Just top off the water each week and add nutrients.

The roots just grew in the water.

It had strawberries, mint, cilantro, parsley and tomatoes. We had so many we got tired of them and couldn't give them away fast enough.

It was like this every day for the whole summer.

This is the first version I made. The problem is the roots would get so large it would plug up the 4" pipe and the water would spill out.

Just use basic 4’ fluorescent lights. Probably not the spectrum of light grow lights would give but has been working good enough for years.

I plant all the stuff that likes cold (Spinach, lettuce, kale, carrots, beets, potatoes, and Swiss chard) in the ground early April. I transplant my onion starts to the garden mid to late April depending on weather. Everything else (corn, beans, squash and tomatoes) go in the ground June 1, if the forecast looks good. We occasionally get a frost the first week of June, so I still have to be careful.

Here too. We'll go a week with days in the 50's & 60's and I just start thinking I can move some stuff outside and then BOOM! Back in the icebox.
The spinach and lettuce are growing well in the cold frame, and the garlic is coming up in good shape, but that's about it. Even my Rhubarb hasn't progressed past tennis-ball sized lumps yet.

Frost here this Saturday night. I have planted nothing to date. Might be moving so we aren't sure if we are going to do anything.

Been to wet to list our rows, until today. Frost coming Saturday night, plant it next week. By this time last year we had plants in the garden.
