You're tall, skinny, & green with no discernible limbs?

My garden is considerably further behind still, lol.
The Chives and the Rhubarb are about the only things that have started thriving.

so i pulled out the pea plants this past weekend. it started to get too hot for them. they had slowed production and started to die.

the green beans will be having the same fate in about two weeks.

    lol...
My peas are about a foot high right now, haha! Beans are in the same boat. We had really hot dry weather here for a couple of weeks and they stalled. I was watering every day but the soil was still powder-dry by the next day. It's been a slow steady rain here since Sunday, and I bet they've grown 3 inches. Once the sun comes back out they'll really take off if it doesn't get too hot again.

From what I've seen of the Texas rain, you're lucky they're not underwater.

Hm. Watch out for mildew on the cukes soon, then. Lots of water staying on the leaves like this can be an 'in' for powdery mildew to start showing up.

Mulch with some straw - will help retain some of the moisture. it's what I use and it works great down here.

Sad thing is, they ARE mulched with straw. It's really been that hot and dry here until this past weekend. The air has been so dry (and breezy) that everything had dried right out. I've got a flower planter made out of an old pine log that holds water like a sponge, and even it had gone nearly completely dry.
Now we've finally gotten a good soak, though, which should be what they need to boost them (and the rest of the garden) into some more rapid growth.

How's it going everyone. I came across this thread and was easily influenced into trying something new. I recently purchased a couple small plants at my local Home Depot ( jalapeno, serano, basil, & mint ) and now looking into building a raised garden bed. Gardening is something completely new to me. If I wanted to plant squash and zucchini would it be fine to do the chili plants and the previous two in the same box? I plan on keeping mint and basil in smaller pots.

    It's going well.

Tomatoes (beef master, better boy, roma) Peppers (Jalapenos, orange blaze, green bell, lou demarco), Garlic, dill, Onions (Yellow and sweet yellow), Lettuce, Carrots, green beans, cucumber, radishes, broccoli (what the rabbits didn't eat yet), basil, oregano, rosemary. In the big pot is zucchini, I have watermelon and Asian melon growing in the black dirt behind the garden.

Ok noted, thanks. I have a lot to look up in general. I figured this would be the best place to push me in the right direction.
