Harvested what was left of my garlic crop on Sunday. Not a great year this year; the moles/voles found them over the winter and ate a bunch of the started bulbs.

Oh well. I can always pick up a couple of lbs at the local farmer's market and can them. That'll get us through the winter pretty comfortably.

    Don't feel too bad.
I still can't get my peppers to come. Plant keeps growing and growing but nothing in terms of pepper production.
Hey, at least our living doesn't depend on these things!

I think it was because it was such a harsh winter up here. They've never bothered the garlic before, but this winter they did. They were also eating the styrofoam insulation around the foundation, which was something else they'd never done.

Worst year for vermin ever. They grabbed the garlic. Hounded the green house until I replaced the roof and built a better door.

Rats and tree rats. I have never seen so many, and we don't do winter here.

On the bright side we are enjoying ripe tomatoes, peppers are comming in, and the new planting season of table greens are showing nicely.

Best thing I had recently was some Romano beans my Italian neighbour gave us. Warm beans in a fresh salad, to die for!

wrong kind of fertilizer? I know some, can't remember what ratios, lead to more plant growth and zero fruit and other formula's - not so much plant growth and lots of fruit growth... :notsure:

Noelie recommended I go with a low nitrogen fertilizer, so I tried that. Still nothing, I may try a bit more.

Also if anyone knows how to fux this let me know. I took a week vacation and my garden went without water for about 6 days. Everything seems to have faired well, but my little pickles shrivveled up and broke off. Will more flowers form in time or is the plant likely done now? Anything I should do?

Alright, that's fair, then. Although I think they call it "Brunch" :D

    Very nice.
I did my first batch of pickles for the year after work tonight, about 1/2 bushel.

Cellar canning kitchen hard at work, but it needs more counter space.

Picked some freshies from the garden last night. Zucs, cucumber, tomatoes, an anaheim, jalapenos, and some strawberries that were consumed except one.
