We planted two paw-paw this weekend, among other plants. I just want to feel included.
The 7 mulberry trees are in full fruit. Kids and wife are making jam tomorrow while I’m at work.

I need to do more work on our blueberries an hour west of here there’s a huge u-pick and we have similar soils so we need to do more homework on what we are missing.

I got them them from Stark Brothers. Hybrid needs another hybrid or natural to pollinate with.
Last summer we planted 30ish spots with 4-6 seeds in each spot for the deer in the back woods on the property. I need to take a walk and see if any sprouted.

PS. Wife reminded me that we have a ton of seeds under the trees from fruit that fell and we did not pick up. PM me and I can mail some to you.

PPS We live an hour away from I75 and I85. If you travel this way in August (when paw paws are ripe), PM me and maybe I can get some fresh fruit to try.

Even after losing a bunch of blooms to frost, the strawberries are still looking really good.

Not really a garden but can anyone tell me what kind of plant this is? Came from Costco and can’t find it online anymore.. did really well for a year and a half but recently has started to not look so good.

    Aglaonema. (Chinese Evergreen)

Could be improper watering or not enough sun light. Maybe it needs fresh soil? :notsure:

I would say it is a Dieffenbachia. Costco did sell these in 22/23. Here is their picture and planting tips for reference.
    • Place it in a bright spot with indirect sunlight, ensuring it receives about 6-8 hours of light daily.
    • Use well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes to prevent water from pooling at the roots.
    • Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically every 1-2 weeks, and reduce watering in the winter.
    • Dieffenbachia plants prefer temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (15°C to 24°C).
    • Fertilize sparingly, once in spring and summer, using a diluted, balanced fertilizer.
    • Remove any dead or yellowing leaves and repot every 1-2 years to refresh the soil and provide room for growth.
    • Repot plants every 1-2 years or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a slightly larger pot with fresh, well-draining soil.
    • Allow the plant to dry out for a few days before and after repotting to reduce stress

It is similar to an anglaonema, but the exposed bare stems and broader leaf makes me think it’s a dieffenbachia. Well draining soil, moderate light but can tolerate sun. Don’t overwater. Let the soil dry out between watering. Don’t put on a saucer as that can cause root rot. If running heat during the winter you would want to mist the leaves every couple of days as humidity is important. Fertilize occasionally. FYI both plants can be toxic but the Dieffenbachia has a sap that can be irritating. Wash your hand and pruning shears after removing the leaves. We have grown these with great success…unless we’ve gotten too busy and the neglected their care. Yours looks like it’s been overwatered (drooping leaves, pale color). I would allow it to dry out a little and see what happens. Top soil should be dry between watering. Good luck.

thanks for the help. Will see if I can find a new pot for it, some new soil, and a better spot. Went to a spare room that is cold in winter because someone was a little too interested in it.

Peonies have bloomed, and the roses are putting on a show. Now if only the grass would come in...

I’m liking the new greenhouse . Only $124 ,didn’t break the bank . I made a 4x4 base and secured to the ground with rebar through the 4x4s then used pipe clamps to bolt the greenhouse frame to the base . Sometime before it snows I can remove the cover around December and reinstall around March/April .
