Gardening Thread - Show me your gardens!

I was too lazy to plug mine in this year. This is last year.



Before you laugh the hydro works pretty well.



The tomatoes, basil and mint went nuts. the strawberries did OK



For months it was like this daily. I couldn't even give them all away I had so many.



It uses very little water, it's easy to maintain and has very few bugs compared to planting in the dirt.

 

Yes - wife eats them like candy. Also grow a large variety that we stuff and grill.

Yeah, we're on a little bit of a different growth schedule up here, lol. I just got my squash, cukes, beets, carrots, parsnips, beans, and peas in the ground last week.

 

I knew you guys were behind, I didnt know by that much.

This was my harvest last weekend

 

Potatoes, Tomatillos, Corn, and Tomatoes.


Potatoes and Corn are done already, time for summer garden:

Jalapenos, Cantaloupe, Watermelon..

Yeah, my average last frost date is May 15th, I think.

by observation, I get the concept. Just need a little more tips and explanation

 

yea I always tend to overwater things. which is why hydroponics confuses me lol. that's a lot more water than it takes to kill my plants.

 

umm because youll save like 10 bucks by not having to buy them from the store? whats to explain?!

 

sooooo ill donate the black bins with yellow tops in exchange for 2 tomatoes a week.

Ive been looking into it too but this is far as I got. Lots of stuff can be sourced from ebay quite reasonably. check this link out.

what size Styrofoam? but yea, I can put out a feeler to the complex and see what comes back.

 

sounds good. ill keep an eye out. id much rather see Styrofoam be upcycled as opposed to just thrown in the landfill to just sit there.

 

yup. im still waiting on a plastic bag ban to happen around here.

 

we just need to go back to the old ways before plastic

 

yea ours add up too. and not many people recycle things. much less things that can easily just be thrown into a blue bin and put at the street.
