I agree!! so how many tomato's does it take to fill that pot? We were thinking of doing that with ours but I dont know if we'd have enough.

I havent tried this but figured it prob would work. Those peas look edible? Prob not where you wanted them to grow but they look good.

We had a slow start but things are catching up, Im pretty happy with our first year in this plot....so far we've got 2, 5 gallon buckets of green beans. We gave a couple grocery sacks of them away but the rest we blanched then froze and have the second bucket waiting to be blanched and frozen. I think I will actually have corn, I just have to keep an eye on it. Tomatos are coming up quick. had and have eaten numerous cukes. zukes and squash didnt/arent doing so good, the plant looks good...just the zukes arent that great. Cabbage was good. Carrots and onions are doing good.

    Very nice.

My peppers are finally starting to take off with this heat. Beans, I'm about sick of them, starting giving them away already.

I'm probably going to can some this weekend. Jalapeños are huge.

Currently in a rental, so we are limited to containers, once we buy I'll do a proper garden. So far we've pulled off roughly 4 dozen tomatoes and a dozen and a half jalapeños and a dozen anaheims. Planted some seranos and bells late but they are coming around pretty well.

yeah we are getting over run with them right now. I told my wife to start giving them away and she didnt want to, now we have a bunch we need to freeze and she wanted to give them away! I said no you wanted to keep them;)..we just snap/blanch/vacu pak and freeze...takes less time than canning. Unless you do dillybeans...which is only processing time.

We decided on no canning this year. I burnt myself out that last few years. I was going to do peppers, but the plants aren't doing well, so I'm just giving them away to people that enjoy them.

It take a lot of time canning...good outcome, just when you are busy its a pain to lock up a whole day to can stuff.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Here's a few of the fruits that we grow on our farm in southern Georgia: Blue berries, satsuma oranges, peaches, and wild black berries. We also grow pears, muscadine grapes, plums, and figs. It's great to pick and eat them at peak ripeness right off the tree. Beats whole foods any day!

I throw a little fertilizer early spring on a few selected patches of the wild black berries and it really pays off with a good yield come harvest time in June.

Lots of time. My jalapeño plants only produced like 5-6 huge ones so far, and isnt looking good as of today. I normally will do those for my dad. Wonder if we've had too much rain for them.
