Well I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. I lived in a neighborhood of Polish immigrants who planted a lot of it and used it in about everything they made. They always planted it in the spring in rows about 6” apart. Some of them would plant the whole backyard in garlic! The one who lived next door to me also ran a meat market and the brick smokehouse was also next to me! Best polish sausage, hams, homemade lunch meat I’ve ever had. The store closed in the late 80’s, I’ve never found anything like it since.

I do it here In Iowa. Works well. Just planted about 20 cloves and a bunch of the bulbois (garlic seeds). They are very hardy depending on the variety. I've had mine going for 8 years now.

Only stuff I've still got kicking are the root crops and the hot peppers (because they're in cold frames in front of the brickwork wall on the South face of the house). Calling for frost every day for the rest of the week, though. So the Carrots and the Beets will probably get pulled this weekend. The carrots will get cleaned, blanched, and frozen. Beets will get pressure canned.

Not really garden related, but Yesterday saw an Eastern Blue Jay like this around the feeder. Its not rare if you are on the east coast but this is the first one Ive seen in the PNW...even the stellers Jay think its odd...lol

I watched a jay swoop in and snag a low-flying hummingbird that was dicking around way too close the ground, low and slow, about 15 ft from me. I figured nothing could snatch a hummingbird in flight. Poof, gone. I was dumbfounded. I saw the jay fly up into a nearby oak. I walked over to see if he still indeed had the hummer. As I neared under the branch, I could see the jay perched and working away at something between his claws. Then I heard something drop into the leaves near my feet. Humming bird head. Jesus fuck, you savage! They all look so innocent in Snow White! Now I know to kill them before they kill me.

better one I saw was driving down our road and see something in the middle of the road like a bird got hit or sitting there, I slow down to see what it was and a falcon had a stellars jay caught and it took off with the stellars jay to devour it somewhere else...all I could see was the stellar jay's head dangling like a yoyo...these are stellars jay for those that dont know what they are.

Got further on the last garden. Still went downhill. Starting a new. Got 3 beans going. They've germinated. Waiting for em to grow up a little, shed the seed husk and open up.

Got a decent feeling on this one. A little frustrated but hoping I can finally have even some mild success I've been looking for. Lot of my problems I think have come from nutrient over-feeding issues. Lot of my stuff just ends up looking burnt to a crisp.

Wish I could post a pic or 2. Figure out something I can post.

You caught on! Gonna roll with Ocean Forest with very little to no nutes and see what that gets us.

Lol on the lights. I was already gonna keep them a few inches higher. 5W Diode LED panels but I can put my hand right under the lights and it's not hot or uncomfortable or burning my skin.

These should be pretty safe to show off. Started these Wednesday night. Little water soak, little paper towel method.

Then I grew impatient and busted out the heating pad. Set the Tupperware with paper towel on the heating pad. Seeds not open when I did this. 30 minutes later after some nice warm humidity these babies popped right open. :D

An indoor garden. Cause it's cold outside. Can't grow things outside in the cold ;)

    I water with distilled.

New little ones coming up!! Humi-Dome and all!

Haven't checked for about 15 hours now, may go do that here soon, while I hold my pipe too. L.O.L.Z.

Maybe I'll find some more neato "reader submitted pictures" off the HighTimes website or something....???

Overall, I really don't care, it's getting more and more accpeted but I don't want to break any TW rules and I really don't want to get TW/staff in any kind of trouble. This is why I am very leery of posting pics. And any pic I do post is going to be as inconspicuous as I can make it.
