Yea, I made the roof steep just for that reason. We've had some pretty heavy snows and it has held up just fine.

This planting was more scattered. Some sprouts are too small to see. But it’s looking good so far.

We use a mix of organic potting mix and our blend of soil from the compost piles.

A bit on the small side, but by far the best I have attempted up to this point. Dirt. Water. Nothing else.

Nice to be not messing plants up. Finally. 4/5 weeks to go and they are all green and lively.

I added some 5000K bulbs into the mix as well. Probably placebo, but I think it's helped along with the not royally jacking up dirt.

Seems like spring is trying to push it's way in early this year. Hopefully a sooner recovery than not. Plants are cool. Homes are cool. Concrete buildings suck.

A little different, but I have a space heater next to mine. A very small one, just a couple hundred watts. Bit chilly in the basement garden during the winter...ha!

Hoping for the warmer weather to hit early. The TN group likes to do a March meet. Gone down there a couple times in some stupid ass weather. Straight up snow camping one year.

My garlic appears to have survived the winter. Spread some leaf litter in the veggie garden to keep out the weeds and put halts on the yard today to prevent the crabgrass :fingerscrossed:. Planting a row of spinach later this week.

I hope so. I have some under about a foot of snow. I covered them with a bunch of leaves back in the fall before the snow arrived. In a couple of months when the snow melts I will get to see how they faired. This is my first time planting garlic. I meant to in past years, but never managed to find the time to get them planted before the ground froze.

Now I have to figure out when it should be harvested. My pansies are happy with this 65+ weather spell but it ain't gonna last.

We dig ours around the end of August usually

When they send up a central stalk (usually curly-q ish looking) you’ll want to clip the stalk off before it flowers so it doesn’t divert growth resources from the bulb. These “scapes” are delicious sautéed or grilled or whatever lol.

When the main tops turn brown and start falling it’s time to dig :)

Make sure u save ur biggest healthiest cloves to plant for next year!

We got an earlier start than usual, and the lack of rain blows. Not to mention the firewood pile has been barely used!

Got these in today, but need to plant more.

I pretty much removed everything when we rebuilt our back yard last year. I had a lot of citrus trees in containers until they could be planted. I also added new bare root fruit trees on the side of the lawn.

With limited space I added a few bare root trees.

    Persimmon - Fuyu (Jiro)

5-in-one fruit salad - July Alberta Peach, Fantasia Nectarine, Blenheim Apricot, Santa Rosa Plum, Babcock Peach.

Thanks, we enjoy it every day and night. The puppies love to run in the grass, I get as much time on the PIT BBQ as I can. We get enough shade to just kick back out there and let the dogs run around. Almost every night I spend 30-60 minutes with a beer or two relaxing in the spa.

The only down side is I only have one blood orange left. I love to put a slice in my ice tea each day in a 24 oz thermos. It makes it taste way better. A normal orange just isn't the same. On the good side it's tossing out a ton of new leaves and is about to bloom again. Grow oranges grow.

We also entertain friends and family often and our house isn't huge so having the back yard usable really helps out.
