There were some around in the eves of the house we lived in MD. I usually filled them with RTV and hear the bee's struggling to get out...which they never did ;)

Ive used those electric fly swatters you see at harbor freight and hit them like a tennis ball. I dont remember how many holes they made in the eves but it was numerous. But I killed many of them in return, it was usually only once a year.

My 6x8 was challenging. If you already haven't, search the web to see what people have done to stiffen them up, etc. I recommend screwing the panels to the aluminum frame, the clips aren't enough to secure the panels and a slight breeze will blow them out - I used 1 screw in the top and one at the bottom of each panel and that has held up. Once the panels are screwed in the greenhouse is more rigid but additional bracing is necessary. If you plan on heating search around to see the best way to seal up around the panels. Good luck.

I have an approximate 2'x8' raised bed in my greenhouse and want to plant some cold weather greens and things in there like this, I was thinking radish and lettuce. What else have people had luck with? I am zone 5b.

Time for some newer photos, then! I love the old-fashioned roses. They smell so awesome.

Funny thing is I was consuming kale when I read your post. I make a V-8 juice that contains tomato juice, and pulverized: beets, carrots, onions, peppers and kale. I also throw some Tabasco in to give it a little kick. Pressure can it in half pint jars, and they make great snacks.

Kale chips aren't bad. Spray some olive oil on there, sprinkle some chili powder & garlic powder on there and bake them and they're pretty good. That's the only reason I grow any kale

I love kale and mustard greens. I usually sow them in the same plot, and they'll survive a pretty hard frost. I like them either pan seared with a bit of olive oil, or cooked until tender in boiling water, then served with balsamic vinegar and some minced onion and garlic.

Plowed all the old leaves, grass clippings, stall cleanings, and cornstalks from last season under a couple of weeks ago, it's been too wet to till and prep my plot since then. My spot is about 90 feet by 65 feet, been composting it every year for the 23 years I've lived here. Only other treatment I use is about 750 pounds of pelletized lime to adjust the pH. Here's mine from last year and year before:DSC09376 (2).jpg garden mid growth June 2015.jpg garden and corn harvest 7-4-2012 001.jpg

That’s a nice garden you’ve got there. I also like kale in stir-fry and in soup. If I put it in a salad I only use tender baby leaves, and don’t add much.

#10x1" hex head with washer. They are ceramic coated and have a rubber washer. They are self tapping but I predrilled the holes since the aluminum frame is about as thick as a Natural Light can. I got them at the local ACE as I wanted smaller ones than normal roofing screws. The package says "Self Piercing Sheeters" and there are 40/package and multiple packages were required. I just snugged them up. I recommend a friend or two for assembly, I did mine myself and it is amazing that I didn't ruin anything. You can PM me and I can send you pics this weekend.

Spread a ton (literally) of compost over my garden. In a few weeks when ground finishes thawing I will till it in. I get it from our local landfill. This load, just over a ton, only cost $33
