I insulated the floor, the rigid foam insulation fit tight but still will drain water if sprayed from above. I have the edges trimmed off, the second pic was prior to the trim.

This one is a kit from harbor freight. looks like double walled plastic vinyl stuff. My only concern is the snow. I think this one will be taller than I expected...lol

You could have a good variety of stuff. You'd benefit from the auto vent listed in the products below. That way you dont "Cook" your seedling starts while you are at work;)

    Mine:
Started out as this, since the brickwork keeps the soil warm enough for an early start:

But, still vulnerable to frost. So I added walls & lids

Lets me start the peppers and sunflowers early enough in the season that I can get a good yield from the hot peppers even in a cool/short growing season, and by the end of July/beginning of August the sunflowers are tall enough to shade the front window & brick work (which keeps the house a LOT cooler)

Some years they do get out of control, though.

    My House Usually
If I had the time, I would. It'd just be another thing to add to a never ending list of things do to. Maybe when I'm older and quit my job to go part time and take back a bit of my life.

I've got 2 newbs coming up. Had them in peat pellets until last night. Put them in the new soil mix. May have killed 1 of the 2, we'll see. Root already coming out the bottom of the pellet, I always take the mesh off around them, broke the root right off when taking the mesh off. Couple days and I'll know plenty well if it's gonna survive.

I remember them every year (after the first one, at least) because they really do mean about 5 degrees temperature difference in the living room during the hottest time of the year.
    Consider this your reminder, haha!

Going this weekend to get some starter seeds and things to get stuff started.

I don't know what I'm doing other than watering and keeping them warm but my cousin knows a little more.

It'll give me a push to get a greenhouse built for when they are big enough to need to go in there.

A seedling heat mat in the bottom of a cooler works great for keeping em warm

Get a 99 cent water spray bottle at the Walmart to keep soil moist and to keep the cat outta your dirt

If there are mice anywhere near your seedlings they will cut em down

We got 90% of the frame put together, stopped at putting the vents together/in  We were reading words but not understanding what they were talking about ;). ...whoever did the instructions for the green house was very vague;) I could see some people returning it. I definitely will need to support it from the inside...I'll post some pics later.

Where does everyone get seeds from?

I got some from the local hardware store, but looking for some more veggies and potatoes.

    Good online places?
