I agree. It sits nicely in that corner, doesn't block my view and is easy to see.

On longer drives, I use the trip info screen because it shows real-time (accurate) MPH. Therefore, I want it to be close to my line of sight. I wouldn't want to glance down to check my exact speed limit.

I know it is not legal in some states........but I have mine mounted dead center of the panel on the windshield. It is low and tight enough to not block my view and works just like a heads up display. It is synced to my Blackberry for hands free use.

I travel a LOT for work and not having to look away from the road for next turn direction, posted speed, current speed, distance to turn, who is calling and so on is GREAT. Glance, single button push, safer than adjusting the stereo, IMO.

With the inaccuracy that's built into civilian GPS, I'd trust the dash more than a nav unit for speed, unless you've got tires with a significantly different outer diameter than the OEMs without recalibrating the speedo.

My handheld GPS (Garmin GPSMap60Cx) reads speeds up to 5.5Mph while sitting still not in a vehicle.

    Just the basics
What the hell is that? Does it fit in the key for the airbag or do you not have it? Can't wait til my nuvi 500 gets here and onto death valley.

My speedometer is about 4 mph off. I have verified this several ways - including radar. I have stock tires and no other modifications that would affect it. The Garmin is also spot on with the speedo in my wife's Jeep.

I trust the Garmin over the dash in my truck.
Plus, exact speed is difficult to see in the Tacoma (at quick glance).

I'm pretty sure that is just the stick on disc that comes with the Garmin's.

Not all trucks have the key in that location - myself included:

You could have gotten the new mount and the Garmin i had just bought for really cheap ( i assume) if you could have found the crackhead who stole mine out of my truck while in my garage before last Christmas.
