    This is a Garrett turbo with an dc electric motor that can either run 3 psi boost at 12v or 5-6 psi at 24v. My question is since I know that just flipping a switch and running 5-6 psi at all times isn't right, if I put a heavy duty rheostat on it and hooked it to the throttle body where it would adjust the rpms of the motor as the engine revved would that work? And also at 5-6 psi I could get by with just an ecu reflash?

    Did you look at it? Is not one of those fart fans. Its an actual turbo impeller. It looks legit.

Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.
    LOL that has a LOW CFM RATE.

    Not bad if it is a real Garret. The problem with electric turbos and blowers is that they take up a lot of energy to create a little bit more flow.

    Well damn. I want more power for my taco but I have limited funds and saving up.money for a real turbo is out of the question. Im wondering though, im running 33's if I rehearse to 4.88's would I get the power back I had with 31's. My current fuel mileage highway is 20 ish. I run about 1800-2000 rpms at 70 mph.which isn't too bad. But putt putting around town and in the hills drains my tank quick

    re gearing will get you added torque. 4.88s is pretty high for 33's IMO most people go with 4.10s or 4.56. IMO an electric turbo is not a good idea. It might cost less but the fact that an electric motor can go bad isnt ok in my book. In a regular gas driven turbo it just turns by the exhaust much more reliable IMO. You have to pay to play a S/C is going to get you power in a lower RPM range. You can pick a used one up for a few grand if you are mechanically inclined you can install it yourself.

    Thanks for the input tostidos. Much appreciated. Well my truck comes stock with 4.10's so I might try the 4.56's if you think 4.88 is too high cause I dont wanna lose my low gear for hills and mud. I just don't know how or where to get a turbo manifold made and im worried about detonation from too much boost. I don't know what the ecu can manage without a urd system. I just want to blput like 5-7 psi boost. Could the ecu handle that if I reflashed?

    Toyota ECUs cannot be reflashed except by Toyota for the TRD supercharger.

    Well I talked to the supervisor from the toyota t-10 performance program at osuit technical college and he said to reflash the ecu all you have to do is disconnect the battery for 5 min and it will reflash it?

    That's not a reflash, that's a reset.
    It only clears codes (not all codes), but it also clears the buffers so if you have an inspection coming up, it won't pass for a week or more.
    Some trucks will also idle like shit until the ECU relearns the throttle and fuel trims.
