Hey group got a 14 Tacoma short bed, recently got relentless hi lift jack in the bed rail mounts so my jack runs along inner side of my bed and was wondering if anyone has seen similar mounts for the other side to mount a gas can maybe even the slim ones?

    Anyone seen my wallet?
Rotopax makes a rail mount, aint cheap though for the setup. I paid 120 for the plate, the lox, and a 1.75 gal water pax.

If you're so inclined you can grab yourself a few t nuts (check the rail attachment thread, don't have a link offhand, on a phone), the basic rotopax mount, and a piece of flat steel stock from the hardware store. Drill a few holes for the mount and the tnuts and hit it with some rattle can bed liner and you're so set for the cost of the base mount and $5 in bar stock.

I do something similar. I use two eyes connected to the rail. Then a ratchet strap with an extra hook ties across the top of the can. The hook nearest the mechanism goes to the ring in the lower left corner of the picture. A ground cloth over the top of the can protects it from rubbing against the side of the truck and the ratchet strap mechanism. Quick and easy. I have carried two cans on a side that way.

Have a buddy whose Rotopax holder thingy broke while off-roading. They apparently don't hold up well to heavy off-roading. I have a 37" Contico tool box where I store gas can and tools when offroading. It does a good job keeping water and dust out.

I made mine with slotted angle iron. They bolt into T nuts in the rail behind the cab. One for two water cans and one for two fuel cans. They aren't pretty but it gets the job done, makes securing them easy and keeps the bed organized.
