Does anyone have this issue. My gas door is bent and when I try to open it it only goes about half. Hence having to force it more to get gas filler in. Closed it looks stock with proper gaps. Toyota wants $200 to replace paint and install. Any cheaper options. I think it is the hinge the door is hooked to that is screwy.

I have a 2010 . You have to keep the hinges lubed or they rust quickly and no longer close properly . Not saying this is your issue ,but its common in the rust belt where I live .
You should see the rust holes in my frame . Body panels are starting to rust as well .

My door used to bind and bend when I tried to open it. I WD40'd the hell out of the hinge and watched a ton of rust come pouring out when my door got like that. Then I hit the hinge with some WD40 white lithium grease and no more door issues.

I just pryed mine back out. Closed it seems to sit higher away from the fender. It's beautiful, I've never had it move so freely.

Heres a picture of the hinge where mine was binding. You can see at the bottom where the paint has come off the hinge. Stick the WD40 nozzle in there and go crazy. It will push all the garbage out and then you can hit it with some spray lube. Use a rag under to collect all the dripping WD40 and grease so it doesn't drip all over your side panel.

I'll also add that I had to open my door like you (45 degree angle). So I just opened it slightly, hit it with the WD40, exercised the door, hit it again, little more movement until it was able to open all the way to the 90 degree angle like it is supposed to. If you grease it after you get the rust out it won't do that again. I have to grease mine every few months to keep it from getting stuck. It gets bad especially after a heavy rain.

Well a bunch of pulling and prying and door opens. And yes....wd-40. I still may need to replace it cuz the gaps are screwy sadly. Also when the door opens it is hitting the paint on the inside. I gotta say. Yea its just a gas door but it is not strong at all compared to all my other cars. Never had a issue as silly as this
