    Was looking for some help...

Lately my gas gauge has become very unreliable. I can fill up the tank and the next day my fuel light is on. The next day it will reflect a more realistic amount. With that problem has came my taco not cranking like normal. It will turn over far more times than it usually does and it cranks up very feeble. It is very strange. Could both of the problems be related to the fuel pump/filter?

    Any advance is helpful!

Yes. The fuel pump, filter and sending unit are all integrated into an assembly. There could be an issue that would effect both the pump and the sending unit ( low voltage etc ).

Thanks! I wonder how much that unit will cost... Something is definitely wrong. Would a computer hookup tell the true story?

Urd sells an upgrade kit that includes an external replaceable filter assembly. Not sure on price, but if you're gonna spend the $$$ anyway might as well go with something easily serviceable down the road

    multiple electrical/fuel issues ?

sounds like the electrical bundle feeding the assembly
has been pinched or otherwise compromised

I wonder if they share a common ground of some type? Previous poster also mentioned wire bundle problems. Possible a loose connector at the tank with corrosion?

Not sure how easy it is to access these items near the fuel tank, but worth a look.
