I do agree, if you are worried about MPG, why would you buy a tacoma, and a v6 at that, It is what it is.

Tires and lift for sure, extra weight, The thing that I dont like about my mileage is the damn size of the tank, 20 gallon tank is not big enough!!!!! Too many stops at the gas pump, it sucks!!!!!

Tacoma - Flowmaster cat-back exhaust, volant cold air intake, 3" lift with AAL, 285/75 r 16 pro comp xterrains, 1" differential drop, spare tire mod, hypertech in-line speedometer calibrator, debadged
After I put in the lift, I installed a Hypertech speedometer calibrator to fix the speedo to compensate for the 285s. I get around 16-17mpg. Once I got 19mpg but that was all highway.

I'm kinda curious to see what my MPG will be with the Yokohama Geolander A/T/S's I ordered last week. :D They're 265/75 16 so slightly smaller diameter and width, but also around 6-8lbs lighter than the 285's. I've heard you seen big differences with 5 or more lbs added rotational weight.

I doubt the armor has much to do with it weight wise. I mean, I see the same mpg if it's just me, or me, the wife, 3 kids, and a dog. I'm sure the extra 4 people, gear, and dog weigh more than a winch bumper and sliders.

Nice rims... Where did you get those? Or are they stock that are painted black... Great looking ride. I am about to do a 3" lift myself... Glad that you have some pics of it... How is the handling since you lifted it?

calculating in the 5% size difference i haven't lost too much in way of fuel economy. i've noticed a bigger hit in town than highway although i haven't done too much highway driving lately. I calculate in L/100km before tires i was averaging about 13-14 L/100km last tank i was at 14.6 L/100km all in town driving
