Right, you guys call it the GST, I forgot. But it is effectively a vat, regardless of name. And yup, I grabbed at 12-15% combined and wasn't even far off. Anyway, I think it applies to your gas, right?, and another 12% cannot be helping your wallet.

well there is pretty much no city where i live this bike spends most of it's time 65mph+ yamaha knew what they were doing when they built this bike, its very unforgiving rides nice and no BS maintnence, change the oil and lube the chain, spark plug every 7k

it sucked stock tho, after the pipe/PC3/filter and no airbox door it was literally a completly different machine

The U.S. is using 40% less gas than 10 years ago, in the past when we use less the supply increases and the price goes down.
Thats NOT happening this time, big oil has learned, they simply control the supply and produce less, produce just enough to keep the price high, its a win win for them, make less and make more money, its like your box of corn flakes, its a big box, then when you get it home and open it you find its only half full.

Absolutely. They are pulling in record profits. Of couse some would argue that they need those profits to find new sources of oil in the short term, and discover new forms of energy in the long term in order to keep pace with the Russians, Indians and Chinese and secure America's energy future. Because let's face it - without a secure energy future, we're screwed.

What's unfortunate is when those profits are taken for granted in the form of obscene bonuses and lavish executive luxury. Then it just comes off as pure greed.

here in NJ... we dont have chevron... I would have to go to maryland to get it!
i usually just go to Shell, (expensive), BP, Sunoco, Valero, WAWA convienent store gas and hess, they all work fine in my truck. The problem in NJ is some gas station will charge more for using credits... annoying!

Wonder how much more that NJ gas costs because somebody has to pump it for you as well. Probably not the penny more a gallon stations with pump jockies used to charge.

I don't think you are supposed to but most attendants don't care especially if they are busy.

I only paid $2.80 in Colorado last night. :)

Of course we now have the nation's first Internet "use" taxes whereby anything we now buy online, we're required to pay the state a 2.9% "use" tax come tax time, so they get you any way they can. Cheaper gas but taxes online.

Blaming "big oil" is just misguided. They do not control the flow of oil...

Part of the recent increase is due to the Alaska oil pipeline shutdown.

That picture shows over 25 gallons. Tacomas don't take that much fuel to my knowledge... Mine only takes 21.1 total and from what I know, older Tacos are around the same.
