Hi everyone! I have a 2004 Tacoma. I've smelled gas in the garage and today while driving, I would get little whiffs of gas. When I got home, it smelled strong in the back left wheel well. The CEL was on a while back for a very small evap leak. Today was the strongest I've ever smelled it. Any ideas?

Should have posted this in the 1st-Gen Tacoma section for more responses.

I'd get under there and check out the fuel intake line from the fill cap down to the tank. Could be a leaking somewhere.

Also, it could be the evap system mal-functioning. Is the evap tank underneath as well, or is it under the hood?

The charcoal cannister is under the bed of the truck. You are going to have to get under the truck with a flashlight and look very closely at the hoses going into the cannister. The hoses are the weak link and the most likely suspect.

Give me a few and I'll see if I can get some diagrams.

Check all these hoses and make sure there are no cracks or splits.
