Not sure what the problem is but when my light comes on I can put about 17 gallons in. 13 gallons seems way too soon for the light to come on.

I have a 2007 DCLB stock with the original rake and if I fill up once the light is on it consistently takes about 17 gallons.

I was poking fun at @96carboard

His epic USED TOYOTA TACOMA DEVALUATION CHART from yesterday was a fun read

So is 13 gal to light better than 17 gals to light given the gas has less time to depreciate before signaling the low gas light?

Exactly! First you figure out what an idiot would pay for gas, then you factor in how long the gas has been in the tank, then you consult the chart

    Jokes aside..
In regards to OP's issue, I would be patient and try pumping gas at a few different gas stations. It may have been a fluke, you'll know in a few weeks if you've got a problem in the tank or if it was just a one-time thing

^^ I find it incredible how many people are too closed minded to COMPREHEND A MATH LESSON and instead fixate on input variables that are MADE UP.

Your math is what is made up.

Vehicle depreciation is logarithmic not straight lined.
Market value (as is the value of anything) is determined by personal worth not a static formula.
Its supply and DEMAND for a reason.

I have no idea what BS you were making up yesterday.

An item is worth what people are willing to pay for it. Period.

I put a new fuel pump assembly in my truck and the light comes on sooner now. By about 1.5-2 gallons sooner. I also only put 55-60 miles by the time my gauge reads 3/4 tank mark.

Wow,.. the write ups here are flamitory!...you guys are incredible...
This fellow just wants to know what the rest of us are experiencing....leave it alone already!...jeese...

The Taco should take (empty 80 Liters, which is about 21 US gallons....3.78 liters =1 us gallon)

The Taco tank fuel sender shows empty at about 20 liters (..so 20 devided by 3.78 = 5 gallons...more or less).

I would strongly recommend that you start (and against your will!)...studying the metric system...
Your Taco by the way , was made in Texas!,...but for a world market...which is 99.5% metric ( the other .5% is the U.S market).

So I don't mean to offend any of my American friends here on the site,.. but the metric system has it's advantages when we're doing engineering type stuff.:crapstorm:

To the initial comment,.. the rod on your fuel sender unit is bent...
    do a google dude!

I've replaced my fuel pump and sending unit recently, no dice, still the same, filled up yesterday from a little over a 1/4 tank left, filled 9 gallons. I'm getting about 50 miles to every quarter tank usually, last tank I drove 131 miles and filled 9 gallons, I think something needs to be calibrated or something, very frustrating

It is a second hand truck. Check your tank, there could $100,000 is there or a few kilos of cocaine.

Put a large bottle of Techron Fuel System cleaner in it on your next fill up. C5 Corvettes have a problem like this and the fix is Techron (twice a year) would cleanup the fuel pump issue. I have a 2000 Vert (OO) and I haven't had the problem for 18 years. Also, use top tier gas...worth a try
