I realized today that my truck seems a little weak, i was driving on the highway, kind of windy, my truck didnt have much power. I really had to punch it to get up to speed. Trying to hold 75mph was a struggle, i also noticed today my gas seems to be dropping very fast for some reason. I had about 110 miles on this gas tank and i was at half.. Normally, im around 150-170 miles on a half tank of gas... Does anyone have the same issue or no what my problem could be?

I considered my spark plugs/wires could be bad, could that be the problem?

Thanks for the help ahead of time, Ken

Bad gas maybe. Maybe run some seafoam through the truck and see what happens. I'm guessing there aren't any codes being thrown since not mentioned

What shape is the air filter in? Clean, overoiled?

    Codes? Explain please.

Also, what does seafoam do? I have been running the same gas since i bought the truck and havent had problems before.

Do you believe the spark plugs could be an issue also?

Check engine light. How many miles on the plugs? Could just have been the head wind. Drive tomorrow and see if its the same .

Yeah change those plugs it's a snap. No wires to change their coil packs if you had one go bad it wouldn't run! I run 93 I'n mine and get 20mpg on the highway mind you. I did the deck plate mod which seemed to help. I run 31x 10.50's on 15x8's so I would think your tires arent the cause. Plus run some name brand injector cleaner through it. Seafoam won't hurt you pore it in let it run awhile it will smoke like a freight train!!!! Then change the oil, burns all the crud out of the motor.

Oh and run by and get factory plugs at your dealer. When I bought mine I noticed it was idling higher than I thought my 04 had was running at 1200rpm on a cold start up and would drop to 1000 when it was warm. I changed back to factory from NGK and it now warms up at 1000rpm and warm idles at 800rpm.

Haynes manual at napa is a must have for the home mechanic! I changed my fuel filter at 90thousand. They only cost 30 bucks at the dealer but wont lie my buddy has a lift I'n his garage and has all the crazy tools that made it easy. Take driver side front wheel off take clips out of rubber inner fender and it's right there on the side of the block. First start will take a few seconds while it primes the fuel back into it.
