It was only 15 miles of driving, but interstate speeds of 70-75mph -
Flat arizona highway - I can get this kinda mileage often.

I think the key is getting up to speed steady as she goes - maintaining the speed -

As evidenced by several, it can be done.

Is that hand calculated or are you trusting the readout on the dash. IME the numbers on the dash are almost always optimistic. In some cases less than 1 mpg. Other vehicles are off by 2-4 mpg and always high compared to hand calculated. Even for a 3rd gen 26 mpg seems too high. I could believe 22-23, maybe 25-26 occasionally under perfect conditions.

My 2007 4X4 DC with a cap will usually be right at 20 mpg hwy. For normal every day driving 16-17 mpg. I have gotten 22 on one tank under ideal conditions in mountains where I wasn't able to get over about 55 at any time and there were long downhill stretches where I could coast.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. I's actually usually around 17.5 - 18 and I am not light on the gas pedal. Overall I don't stress on the MPG, but since I drive a lot I do pay attention...

I have a 2 inch lift and 285s. I average between 15 and 18, depending on highway speeds and idling time. 26mpg would be magical.

2017 TRD Off Road DCLB w/ no lift, E-Range KO2's size 275/70/17, and 300 pound camper (vagabond) with OTT Tune: 18-19mpg
2023 TRD Off Road AC w/no lift, C-Range Duratracs size 265/75/16, and 175-200 fiberglass topper with no tune (yet): 19-23mpg

All of this is at around 6k ft of elevation and about 25% of which is mountain passes. Mostly using 87 gasoline, but will occasionally fill up with 85 if I'm staying above 8k ft for a while

I typically get 19.5-20.5mpg per tank, but I do notice that when I actually do the math, Tank trip mileage divided by gallons of gas filled, its always around a half gallon MPG lower than what the screen says

I feel like if you spent an entire tank driving highway in ideal conditions you could top out at 28 max, absolute max.

    Running 285/75/16s
23 ish running secondary roads 25-50 mph.
17 ish running interstate 65 mph.
I tend to run 5 over but am pretty gentle stopping and starting.
My truck idles a lot and tank avg isn’t as good.
Small lift and 285/75/16s, ARE cap also.
