So, if I get a 2015 base 4x4 4 cyl. manual, and drive it conservatively (coasting in neutral down hills, not speeding up to red lights, shifting at 2.5k rpms etc.), would getting about 23-24 mixed be possible?

From what I have read on here, I think 23-24 is best case scenario, but I would expect you can hit 22 for sure ( would have to throw some highway miles in there too though).

My 2015 4cyl 5spd 4x4 has just under 2000 miles and driving conservatively 25 miles round trip back and forth to work is getting me 21 mpg. Mix of highway and city. My 2013 was the same truck and I could squeeze 25 out of it sometimes.

During the warmer months I average right around 24 mpg, 80-85% highway driving. I would think you could do the same if not better if you drive very conservatively.

no need to drive conservatively just don't bag on it and she'll do fine. my personal record is 791 km on one tank. I did it to prove a point to someone although the truck was totally empty, and I drove around on the freeway and ran out of gas at the gas station lol, still had sliders and my bfg at's though

In the winter, I would get 19-21, summer 20-23. I think my best was 23.7. My lowest was 17.9 (an outlier from the norm, but during a brutal cold spell). That was with a 2014 Access cab, 4cyl, 5 speed, driven by a 61 yr old non-aggressive driver.

I recently bought a 2015 6 cyl, auto TRD O/R and am getting 16-19 winter, and 18-23 summer. My best is 23.4. Worst is 15.9.

21 mpg local on my 2010 access cab.

I live in a valley between two ridges, so I'm always going up or down winding, fairly steep roads.

My '09 AC, equipped like you describe, consistently gets better than that. I shift around 2k, don't coast in neutral, and drive mostly in mountainous country. A new one, driven the same way, should do as well.
