Comes with the territory as they say. Recently put on Wild Peaks 245/75-16’s (stock gearing) and alls I can say is if you decide to go with the flow of traffic (80-85mph) be prepared NOT to look at the gas gauge

I think the best I've seen is just over 16, and that was mostly freeway miles on that tank. Usually it's around 14.5.... My truck still is under 2k on total mileage, so perhaps it'll get better, but I'm not holding my breath. Whatever.

Also, I don't baby the go pedal, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with the outcome.

You keep it under 65 you will see fuel mileage improvement. Don't care what others are gonna say , but I recommend premium fuel . I've been running 92 octane all 200k mi . I'm og owner . Oil catch can is gonna save you headaches also. Keep that intake manifold clean as possible.

Also I'm 5400lbs , stock gears , automatic, 315/75/16s e rated heavy tires . I can get almost 22mpgs, but weather conditions have to be perfect. Most average I get is 19.5 . I track mileage by gps . I've logged almost 38k mi on fully and within those statistics it shows average of 18.5 mpg . Im certain if I make a new fuelly account I can get my average higher. In those 38k mi ive changed tire sizes, and tested many betas and other tunes. I will keep my preference of tune to myself as it's my business, but I'm positive the way my truck is set up I can get higher mpg averages. Matter of the fact telling you right now I think I'll just do that. I love stats

Oh lift I have a Lowered 6" rc lift due to weight of my beefy ass bumper and 12k winch. Don't let others doubt you that your stuck with crappy fuel mileage. Ask me I've done plenty to my Tacoma and still continue to improve Toyotas Tacoma for best performance and fuel mileage. I drive 100+ miles a day, so I've invested a lot of research, time and money to have my Tacoma be efficient as I possible can . Also reliable as I can. Hit me up

    Work in progress...
I started out at about 21mpg but over time I have managed to work that down to a respectable 13-14 mpg.

That’s not bad, but I’m hoping you will get it below 10 MPGs some day.

A really old Cat named Willy Lawson told me back in the early 80's, 2 things men lie about the most are amount of sex they are getting and truck fuel mileage.
