Gas Mileage after Spindle Lift - MPG
What is your MPG post lift?

Ok... So I have an 2009 DCSB TRD Sport 4.0 1GR-FE engine.
I have a 4" Spindle lift in the front and a 4" lift in the back.
    Stock intake and a
AT2525XL exhaust. No other performance mods yet.
285 70 17 Nitto Terra Grapplers (had on about 6months before lift).
I have had a LEER Tonneau cover (around 80ish lbs) on it since 2009.

My problem is that from a full tank of gas till the gas light comes on, I am only getting around 13.52MPG -230 miles per tank- post lift... before the lift I was getting around 240-245ish miles per tank... so the lift didn't kill my MPG that much.
I am continuously seeing Taco owners on here getting WAY better MPG...
Ok I will admit I used to drive with a heavy foot for years, but post lift I have been driving like Morgan Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy... (95% of the time anyways).

So any input or advice would be awesome and appreciated.

That looks good! I would like to lift mine a little. But, not willing to sacrifice MPG.

I have a 2011 sport with 4" maxtrac spindles, billys @.85, and dakar leaf pack in rear. Running 285 70 17 BFG ATs. I used the tire size calculator in the links up top and found the difference between the stock tires and the 285s. I found that every 1 mile on the odometer is actually 1.07 miles. So i multiply 1.07 by how many miles on the odometer and get the actual mileage and divide it by how much gas i put in. I was averaging 19-22 with stock and now 17-19 post lift.

Thanks, I love the lift, and to me I think minimal loss of mpg is totally worth it...but not the mpg I am getting! Ive had the lift on prob like 3 months, but even brand new her gas mileage was nowhere near what you are getting...

Stock I averaged high 18-19 city, 22 highway. I now have 2 1/2" lift in front and 2" in rear running 285/75/16s. According to My calculation I'm avg 17s around town high 19s highway. " I also took into account for larger tires and the speedo being off!"

Another interesting Note I did my lift almost 1 year before my tires and I noticed more loss of MPGs with the lift then I did with the tires.

True but I have had crappy mpg for yrs way before those pretty a** Nittos went on.
I've always just accepted it for yrs "cuz its a truck" attitude. But since I have joined TacomaWorld, I have been seeing other users getting way better mpg.

I've got the Maxtrac's, Billies set @ 1.75 & All Pro expos with the same size tires as you. When I filled up for the week yesterday morning I had gone 232 miles (50/50 city & highway) on just under 12 gallons, I also added the difference like Koootch. I use Fuelly to keep track, after yesterday's fill up I got 19.6 mpg. On a recent trip to GA I went 316 miles when the light came on.
You gotta be easy on the skinny pedal.:D
I keep my needle around 60 which is actually like 63. Its hard sometimes with cars passing me like I'm standing still. Haha
    Truck looks good btw!

    Too many to name....
IMO lift plays a little role but it's the tires and the way you drive that's going to decide the factor.

316 was all highway & back roads @ 60-65 mph or less. I think the trick is to keep the rpm's below 2k closer to 1500 seems to be better but god its slow. haha
That 60 mph range seems to be a happy medium for me, it's like 1800 rpm's.

Try to keep rpm's below 2000 at all times, even when accelerating. Used to get 19ish and now im getting 21ish (all stock). But still it should improve your mileage a bit

Im right at 65 at 2000 rpm. I can get 300 per tank right now until the gas light turns on, just have a AAL in the back so not much lift. Will have 2 inches up front and a 1 inch block in the rear by next week
