Ive put a few scrapes on that stock dif skid too, and the pie tin skid as well the first time I tried the crawl control over rocks, dang thing started jumping on them!

But really, it was surprising how much MPG dropped as I added some weight, it just didn’t seem to be as much of a drop per added pound with my 1st gen (also a V6 AT).

I didn’t realize that... I will have to experiment with high octane to see if there is much of a difference. We are currently on a perfect trip to try that right now.

I can tell you that I tried two tanks of 92 octane on each of the stock tune (04B12) and the TSB tune (04B13). The only feeling that I came away with was that the motor was slightly smoother. I felt no power / torque bump or anything added through the rev range. I did feel and confirm a power bump on the TSB tune using the same fuel. Interestingly, I lost fuel mileage with 92 versus 87 each time.

I am now on OVT (87 FOB). The engine is smoother than ever before and there is a very noticeable power increase through the rev range. Testing 91 octane tunes, there was definitely more power and at least the same MPGs. Still, I'm content with the 87 tune.

In the end, I am not seeing a trade off with regular fuel either stock or tuned.

Where you on the screen that shows instant mpg instead of avg mpg one time but not the other? Say yes, otherwise there some book of ELI (the movie, not religion) shit about to happen when your generation is in power.

A sixties vintage hemi motor (not saying this is the EXAXT engine as the Toyota) had to run 38-42 degrees of total advance in order to perform to it's capability. A deep hemi chamber burns with a slow flame front. MUCH less likely to suffer from spark knock/detonation than a comparable GM engine (cubic inch size) that uses a bathtub shaped combustion chamber.

Excuse me. I checked my facts and I was incorrect. The sixties vintage Hemi ran an ititial advance of approx. 35 degrees and a total advance of approx 53 degrees BTDC.

Just following up on my post able the fuel burn rate at idle and hopefully some good evidence for you:

This is from the Torque app. So, 0.2gal/hr on a hot motor.
