I didn’t want to put it like that, but there it is.

I see you have a bike as your avatar, I also ride...a lot.

Isn't our obituary waiting just around the corner every time we ride too?

I was referring to more of a design issue than an environmental one. Riding a liter sport bike at high speed on a good road with limited intersections is inherently safe. Riding my ‘41 H-D flathead the same way would be a total disaster.

After raising my truck a couple inches, removing the air dam, and going from 265-65-17 Toyo Open Country AT's to 265-70-17 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires. I did a 2 week gas mileage test.

I've not drove over 82 MPH, and mostly stayed around 75 MPH. Still getting an average of 18.9 MPG. I was expecting a bigger drop. Hell I should have went 275-70-17.

My speedometer is off 2 MPH according to my radar detector. 75 is actually 77 now.

I have seen that on I-80 across Iowa as well. 80mph holds 6th gear pretty steady and the gas mileage is around 20 at that speed.
I can get higher mpg at 55 mph, but if you try that in i-80 you will get shoved off the road.
