What tires exactly? You have a 6 cyl with large and presumably heavy tires

I'm not sure the exact weight of them but typically mud terrain are heavy, and don't have a gas friend tread for on road

When i went from the XTerrains to the BFG ATs on my Silverado (keeping the same size), I went from 11.5 to 12.5 mpg. Then I sold it as I still needed better mileage for commuting.

On my 03 DC Pre V-6, I get ~17 with only cleaning the MAF and good maintenance on stock TRD size tires. I just did the Deckplate mod and with the same driving style, I got 17.5mpg on the last half tank, but that's only one tank of gas. I also noticed when I put a little more air in the tires (32 to 34PSI), I got around .2 mpg better, but that could be fluke with variations in driving conditions and gas quality. I need to chalk test it to find the right PSI - stock size would lead me to believe 32 will be right and wear better)

2 weekends ago, with a bed loaded with camping gear (under the roll up cover) and my GF and her 2 boys in the truck, I got 18.9 for 200+ miles of mostly highway driving.

    So it all varies.

I get around 19 consistantly. This is with dicking around (redline) and normal highway driving.

265/70/16 AT tires & stock alloys, so not too heavy or aggressive tread.

so 300 miles to the tank is not possible from what it sounds like to me.

18.5? I thought they were just under 17? Damn, I have a whole 'nother gallon to use that I've been thinking isn't there and getting gas at places I'd prefer not to.

Even so 17 * 18mpg = 306 (or 18 * 17mpg), so even by my miscalculation of tank size, I could still get 300 miles to a tank. I haven't pushed it that far yet, but it sounds reasonable

Have you ever had your gas light come on?

I think it comes on whenever theres like 3 gallons or so left.

wow goodpoint I hadn't thought of that. You odometer and speedometer are not calibrated with larger tires as well.

Yeah it comes on and the pointer is below E, and when I fill up, I usually hit 16 or so.... so I'm a dumbass for not looking it up and making an assumption :D

Now I know I can still get home or to work without worrying when the light comes on.
