    Hi All,

My local dealer keeps asking if I will get the gas pedal recall work done. I have been putting him off because I don't want the computer re-flash.

What are your feelings? Am I being paranoid? Why should I get it done? Why not?

I have an '08 TRD V6 6SP access cab. Basicly stock. GY Duratrac tires, I do see a little off road time. I also live in Wisconsin, so I do drive in snow(when it does snow here) 4 to 5 months of the year.

    Thanks!!

I guess I should have expected those responses, but why do you think I am paranoid?

My dealer always asks (2010 TACOMA) and I always say no, my gas pedal works fine just the way it is, and I don't plan to have 2 or more floor mats on the driver's side!

Doesnt that re-call require the re-flash that makes it so you cant super charge if you want to?

I was hoping that this topic went away ... and if it hadn't I was hoping that I would not respond ... and if I did I was hoping I would be positive ... so, take it from me ... get it done ...

You have to get an ECU flash after the supercharger install anyway. They should have a post-recall version of the supercharger map.

I actually got the recall work done just to get the latest ECU software, which includes all the tranny fixes. Didn't care for the pedal chop but didn't mind it, either. After trimming, it looks the same as the ones in 2011-2012 trucks.

Wow, that much fuss to gain 1/4 inch above the carpet and get a 1 1/4" shorter pedal???

I had it done and never ever noticed a difference. Not even a little bit. I'd just have them do it, no big deal.

Actually, I think it is STUPID to do it, if the net gain is only 1/4 inch!! What floor mat is thinner than 1/4 inch (when added to a bare floor or on top of another floor mat (as in the case of the Lexus accident in Santee, CA)... ?

Apparently if you complain loud enough about the trimming workmanship, they'll replace the pedal with a new, shorter one.

The pedal trim is just a pretense so they can install government sanctioned software during the so-called computer re-flash.

So start freaking out people! lol
