I'd be careful about the desire to move...gas in my area is only 3.59/gal, BUT I live in an area where the median income is in the bottom 20% in the nation. Gas is relatively cheap, but my work's worth is even cheaper. It's all relative folks.

True, but for us military folks, an E-6 in southern california is paid the same as an E-6 in north carolina. I am actually looking forward to moving to north carolina in a few years so I can save some money.

isn't awesome knowing that everytime you fill up gas you're getting ripped off? And probably by at least 2 entities?

Oahu is at 4.33 for regular.

My favorite is how Canada drills for oil and sends it to the US but their prices are high. The US drills for oil and sends it over seas. Obama was just in Brazil praising them for drilling their own oil because the US will now buy it from them! This should be in the WTF thread!

^^^ the Kissinger plan. We sell our oil overseas, we promised to buy oil from all over the place, those countries were to buy our treasury notes in return to prop up the dollar. Basically a deal to sell our debt and we get to pay for it every time we fill up.

They stop buying treasuries, we're screwed. We default their debt, they're screwed. Ugh...

North San Diego County, Calif. has stations ranging from $4.25 to $4.45 for 87 octane... The good news is the prices have been level the past 2 weeks... and a drop is in the future as supplies are up and demand has dropped.
