There is just over 21 gallons in the tank, plus maybe another in the fill tube... so at 20.526 gallons on the pump, nobody ran it to empty (yet)!

Well, I never seen that needle dip that low - that’s all I’m saying.

Always be prepared. One never knows when power will go out. When it does, there's no gas available.....
One item I didn't see is the weight that a full tank provides. Before a snowstorm, I like to fill up and have that weight in the back.

Well, sure and it will reach rock bottom, but until your truck stalls from lack of fuel, and you tow it to the gas pump, and read the gallons takes to fill it, you don't know how many gallons goes in and how many miles a 'tank' gets.
The light coming on or the E-Line on the gauge are NOT the "tank" of fuel... So, don't say you got 300 miles to a tank unless you ran out! ;)

I view the risk of burning up my fuel pump to be roughly equal to the risk of sucking up debris from the gas station. In roughly 20 years of driving and owning vehicles, neither of these things has ever been an issue for me. I have, however, had multiple cars that you don't want to overfill. I have replaced a few charcoal filters/ evap tubes, etc.
