Some people suck. A new tank is over $800, plus towing/labor, for $20-40 of gas and commuting a criminal act?

LRA makes an all steel tank, but any skid or even a steel tank is unlikely to be a significant deterrent if they are already under the truck with a drill and a bucket.

Very true. Drills do cut through metal.

Takes a little longer to do so and makes more noise usually.

Yup and if you shoot the 55grn out of a 20 inch barrel it will go right thru body armor. there is a video on youtube showing a guy doing this with a bolt action defeating ar500 armor plate where the 62grn would not make a hole.

Yes they do suck. I figured that with how they were doing it so quickly that anything that got in their way would deter them. And at least give me a little time to get out there after my cameras have alerted me.

This thread is disturbing on all levels but it never ceases to amaze me people care more about animals than other people.

People are litterally talking about making up devices that cause serious physical harm to a person... and our concerns are over a dog...

Didn't read all three pages, but it did. The 52 billion tax bill, Championed by socialist Jerry Brown. The ~40 cent tax hike was part of that Bill. As was taking away the tax incentive to own an EV , as they were contributing to the gas tax. So they received a new tax. Passing the bill also allocated funds to the fiasco of a high speed rail. Where the Will of Want stands in stark contrast against the Engineering NEEDS. ~30 billion allocated to the "general fund."

Moral here is, be well informed about your local policies, armor up, and don't ride the high speed rail. Lol.

Make that plate out of titanium, and they'll burn through drill bits. Since we all know they'll drill at high speed to save time.

I inherited a 1988 Toyota (pre-Taco) Pick-up. It would have been really easy to steal gas from! The gas tank had a threaded drain plug just as did the transmission and engine! I was a little shocked to see that!

Have any of you seen those air canisters that go off when an animal gets near? they are like 15 bucks. I think that would scare the shit outta someone trying to crawl under the truck to steal gas.

on another note if its this big of a problem maybe have a gas can handy and some of that temporary gas tank patch tape/putty? sure beats a tow truck unless you have AAA. I would be pissed about the gas tank as i would probably be replacing it myself :/

Perfectly fine with that. The person is a thief and deserves whatever happens to them. The dog is just a dog peeing on a tire.

Between my dogs, cameras and now a CSI gas tank skid @GHOST SHIP and I will modify I should have it handled.

I am one of those that care more about my dogs than most people. They don't steal, lie, cheat or intentionally cause harm to anything or anyone. Sorry if you don't understand this but that's ok. The fact that there are so many in this thread that think that violence towards anyone is acceptable or funny proves my point.
