    I can agree with that.

Like I said, this thread is highly disturbing.

Its kind of hard to put much faith into that article. The study they reference is hosted by a bogus journal and isn't publicly available -- you need to buy a membership to gain access to the paper. And given that its a tabloid / "fake news" site that is the source of this.... well you get the picture.

In other words we don't know anything about that supposed study. How did they collect their data? What kind of controls were in place? By what measure did they judge the honesty of the respondents? (and I mean, how many people lied by saying they'd save the foreigner in order to make themselves look like they're not immoral douchebags?).

The truth is that people will by nature be more concerned with who or what has a direct association with their own lives than with someone or something that they don't know. The "foreign tourist" doesn't have to be a foreign tourist -- it can be someone who lives down the street. There can be a huge complexity involved in making a split second judgment call that wouldn't be considered in any test that doesn't actually measure real reflexes under the actual circumstances. For example, an average white male from Virginia choosing between saving his dog and saving a middle-aged bearded Arab. What about choosing between saving his dog and a gorgeous 20-something white woman? And how about if you replace the dog with his truck -- how does that alter the scales against the two foreigners? Because now we aren't even considering lives of different value, we are considering a life against an object.

How many people HERE would choose to save the life of a random stranger over saving THEIR TRUCK?

Same. I’ve lost respect for people and thieves after somebody stole a dirtbike out of the back of my truck I worked my ass off and my fingers to the bone to pay for. Fuck people. A stray cat has more value to me than a random person.

Shoot as cheap as gas is now? The old Tacomas had a drain plug much easier.

A lot of good suggestion on here and some quite innovative, but just curious, what dose the Police Dept. have to say about it?

Give them a couple generations and they will eventually realize the honey moon ended twenty five years ago.
Idiots continue to flood in and the federal government is trying to make it worse with these war victim families.

Like I said. The extra time it takes will be enough to deter or for me to get outside.

They can't do anything unless they catch them in the act or you get facial pics or vehicle description.

First part easier said than done. Second part is a given.

It's really a good city. Just get the random acts of idiocy that suck

...and even weirder sects of these folks are out there too.... I was listening to a Debra Soh interview on The Blaze YouTube the other day and Glenn Beck was interviewing her. I had never heard of "furies" before her interview. There are people out there that think that they are part animal, forest nymph, etc... Crazies...
