I wish gas was under a buck.
The cheapest gas buddy is showing is 1.37 at a prime station.

On a side note, not wanting to hijack, but kinda related. Anyone know of any issues using techron/ seafoam long term?

i doubt you'd have issues with Techron, or regular Chevron customers would have sued them into oblivion by now

I'd love to see some studies that show different brands of gasoline or different brands of oil have led to an early demise of an engine. With real world driving and other non constants taken out.

The Sunoco in Philadelphia has not cracked fuel in quite some time , they do produce race fuels in other areas so could be available, I know buy 55 gallon of Sunoco the 260 GT which is 100 octane and we also buy the 112 leaded but its cheaper to just buy 100LL at the local airport .
I use that in some aircraft and couple guys have Airboats and small Hoover craft that require leaded fuel .

Couple years ago I watched a unbranded tanker early in the morning finish up at a name brand Hess station and go right down the road to a no name gas station to make a delivery same fuel truck and fuel .

When I inquired at Hess Corporate responded station are only required to use higher grade fuels from Hess and reserve the right to use a lower grade from independent suppliers as long as it meets Hess standards.

Basically as long as they buy the higher grade fuel from Hess they can put any low grade gas and not even tell you what your buying .

That and Ethanol made me just buy the cheapest from a name brand like Costco or Bj’s and just add my own fuel treatment ... You can not trust any station in my opinion .

Is this just the additive package that is their brand?

Techron is good stuff , not to be used on a regular basis , Chevron says every 3k , I think that’s a bit much , I think I may add it to a Tank of fuel once a year .
I have not heard any bad stories about it used as directions say .
I still add my “Snake Oil “ as others may call it , has not hurt any of my gas vehicles , Lucas Oil Upper Cylinder Lube .
Most low grade gas dose not have any additives and does not help Ethanol is also in the mix , adding a little extra lube can’t hurt the fuel pump and injectors .
Then the Techron to clean the carbon off the pistons and injectors

I dont know if Techron is owned by Chevron. I think some techron is also in some Texaco gas.

Techron is Chevron's trademark for their proprietary fuel additive package for gasoline.

Chevron bought Texaco in late 2000, so anything that you see branded Texaco is just a brand for regional markets. So it's the same.

If you want to see something interesting - go looking for a source of straight PEA. Its a solvent used in the plastics industry and used to be about $75 for a 55 gallon drum. When used as fuel additive ...... It's about $20 an ounce.

Yes it's the same chemical compound.

Never any gas related issues. never used any fuel treatment besides stabil when storing my vehicle while I was deployed. Just put gas in it, drive it, and don’t overthink it.

The oil market has taken a turn no one has ever seen .. was trading for negative -$37 no one was buying and there was no where to put the crude .

Thanks to Governments partner with Ethanol industry , Government should have not business in the gasoline market , they have learned Ethanol buys votes .

However Trump/ GOV has the RFS agreement to take and blend mandate , we are in un charted waters here .
Ethanol was meant to help out during oil and gas shortages and we are in the opposite position .

At this point Ethanol cost more per gallon to produce than a gallon of gasoline ... the Government will not repeal the Ethanol blending mandate even though it is not cost effective to continue blending fuel just to pay for farmers votes .
I live in a state that the fuel tax is .81 per gallon which is the highest in the nation thanks to Tom Wolf jerk off .

    Could see gas at $1
