I've installed lots, no issues here.

I would suggest doing the whole kit with timing belt, bearings, and the thermostat, gates makes this as well.

Gates is quality stuff and is a major OEM parts supplier to Honda, Toyota, and Nissan

Go with Aisin or OEM Toyota. Gates IMO is going much the same was a Moog renting the name out and throwing Chinese crapperware in a box.

I highly doubt they are doing that, they are the main supplier of timing components to Honda. Chances are in that Gates box you'll recieve a Gates timing belt, and Aisin water pump because last I checked they source from there. Not sure who they would get the bearings for idlers from, but if they are still packing their items in Japan chances are it would be Nachi. Whereas Moog was never the main supplier of anything.

I've never installed a gates kit on a subaru but I have on many Yotas and Hondas. None of them had Chinese components in the kits I installed. I'm not sure if the V6 Gates kit has Chinese components.

I got a Toyota OEM/Aisin kit for my truck last month on ebay for $275. Sure there are cheaper kits out there but I plan on keeping my truck forever. I'd rather spend a little more for piece of mind. The other stuff is probably more than okay. It's the probably part I take issue with.
